So you lived in Cleveland and attended Ohio State. Were you also born and raised in Ohio? If so you’re obviously a fan of whoever you choose to be but to me that should make you an Ohio State fan 100%.

No, I was born in NYC. No real college football there. Moved to Syracuse and I was a fan during the Jim Brown era. When I moved to Cleveland, I was an instant OSU fan.

I like to cheer for Texas though. Since I love college football, I had to have a local team.

OSU will beat them by 3 scores.

That would be nice. I'd love to make the playoffs. You might be a bit optimistic. Could be our toughest game this year. Both Michigan's will be tough of course.

Makes sense.

Even though Texas has sucked a fat one for quite a while now, you have two powerhouses to cheer for. Nice problem to have.

We'll see if Herman can right the ship. What's been going on at UT for the past nine years is completely unacceptable or at least should be by their standards.

August 30th. Northwestern-Purdue is the best on that night.
Lower cast P5s with chips on their shoulders? Consider yourselves lucky that they are willing to play a Thursday game. Thursdays are for "LSOPs." They need the exposure offered by being the only game to watch.

I went to Ohio State when I lived in Cleveland. I'm a big fan. I moved to Texas in 1987 and became a Longhorns fan. So I cheer for both and hope they don't play each other.

For the first Saturday of the coming season, both are on at 11AM. Bummer.
do what i do, multiple tvs

A lot of injuries, no QB, questionable offensive and defensive lines.

I have 2 TV. I just would have to run from room to room. My second TV is a component of my computer. I would have to realign it with my first in order for it to work.

Army/Duke on the first Friday on ESPNU might be worth a watch. So might Kennesaw St. at Georgia St. the night before on ESPN+. Not great teams, exactly, but possibly pretty good games.

I'm trying to remember if ND has ever played on scrub day? I dont think we have. My guess is there are only a handful of teams that haven't. Alabama/Nebraska come to mind as other teams off the top of my head they probably haven't .

Yes, you see @Olyduck , most top tier conferences don't force their top tier teams to play super late night games on a very short week when half the country is already in bed on a work night.

:tsk: Fucking Pac12

On occasion, the tv networks have managed to get Alabama & Auburn to play the Iron Bowl on a Thursday or Friday. But that's a rare phenomenon.

If it's an SEC team playing an off-night game, it's usually South Carolina and/or Vanderbilt during the first or second week of the season. Over in the ACC, it could be anybody - and usually more than once a season! I wonder if that will slow down when they launch their own network?
