Doesn’t South Carolina usually volunteer for scrub night the opening night?

And the best one the following night is Stanford/San Diego State. The Trees will be looking to avenge last season’s loss.

I'll be watching and not giving a single fuck as to who is playing.

Boise St should volunteer for that game, might be the only way I watch them play on that blue field. Talk about desperation.

Given it's the first night of the season you would think they'd have a marquee game or 2 wouldn't you? Start the season off on a good foot.

That might not turn out to be such a 'bad' early season game, actually.

Northwestern-Purdue will be a good game.

2 Big10 teams opening against each other. Both coming off
excellent seasons for each of them. Can Brohm build on his
magic at Purdue?

Physically, they'll be evenly matched football teams. It'll be
a good game. That game has the possibility to go back and forth
all night long.

I was thinking the same thing. While it's not two marquee names it should be a very good matchup.

As a couple folks in this thread have already stated, Northwestern @ Purdue could very well be a hella game...I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Both teams won their Bowl games this past season (Northwestern over Kentucky, and Purdue over Arizona).

Agree 100%, especially about the marquee names being involved.

I sometimes wonder if many folks know the difference between a
good game and a bad game.

I wrote last year, in some bowl game thread about one of the best
that I watched in 2016 was the Bahamas Bowl between Eastern
Mich and Old Dominion. Eastern was playing in only their second
bowl game in their history and Old Dominion was playing in their
first one.

Those two teams got after each other all day long. They both
wanted to be there and it meant something to both squads.
Toss in that they were physical equals and you had the perfect
resume for an excellent football game.
