You'd think CFB could get one quality match-up for Thursday

It's not usually a Pac team on Thursdays, but I do recall Stanford nearly losing to a very bad Oregon State team on a Thursday night game a couple of seasons back.

It's those utterly stupid (if you happen to be going to them anyway) Pac12 after dark Friday night games that just suck.

On occasion, the tv networks have managed to get Alabama & Auburn to play the Iron Bowl on a Thursday or Friday. But that's a rare phenomenon.

If it's an SEC team playing an off-night game, it's usually South Carolina and/or Vanderbilt during the first or second week of the season. Over in the ACC, it could be anybody - and usually more than once a season! I wonder if that will slow down when they launch their own network?

Yeah but isnt the Iron Bowl gonna be Thanksgiving weekend? I dont really think that counts exactly the same.

I think most conferences play a fair share of Thursays.

this season will see 3 Big 10, Pac 12 and SEC schools play Thursday games
5 From the BigXII
and 6 from the ACC with NCST playing 2x and Wake 3x

I only looked at Thursday and not Fridays

since the start of the Pac 12 no 5-7 teams have gone to a bowl. only 1 season has the Pac not had 7 bowl eligible teams at 6-6 or better.
so not so fascinating because the conference already "regularly" does fill slots without 5-7 being a factor.
