Be afraid.
And yet they continue to dodge playing a REAL blue blood like South Carolina
They should play South Carolina. It would be their best chance to beat a team from the Palmetto State this century.
And yet they continue to dodge playing a REAL blue blood like South Carolina
Why would....OOOOOOH, I get it.Oregon State vs South carolina
University of South Dakota vs UTSA
isn't that every 6 years?Georgia-Clemson needs to be rekindled. And there's a chance it will be.
isn't that every 6 years?
I wouldn't go home and home with FIU, but we should go home
and home with USF and/or UCF. Even rotate them.
You cut down dramatically the guarantee...you cut down the cost
of playing each other. (Neither team has to fly). You create
more in-state interest and offer a better value to your fans. FSU
has 20% of its fan base in Central Florida, if not more. At least
20% of its season ticket holders are in either the Tampa or Orlando
metro areas.
USF offers a bigger stadium (seating) than any ACC school with the
exception of Clemson and Miami. UCF's home stadium is equal
to the average ACC school and we could tell them we want the
game played in the Citrus Bowl stadium. We could sell that out for
them.
Last time we went to USF they cut off sales to their upper deck
so that FSU wouldn't have a bigger crowd than them at their home
game. That hurt them in future negotiations.
I don't see anything wrong with "controlling costs" of your program.
Why share any of that with a less than in state school when you don't have to?
Recruiting and maintaining your fan base.
If you play those people, they can't boast about "what they WOULD
HAVE DONE," against you. They're forced to actually do it.
20% of our fans drive roughly 500 miles round trip from Central
Florida for home games. There is no reason why they can't get an FSU game close by.
FSU aint losin fans to USF UCF ect man... ever.
Also, they can get any recruit not going to UF/Miami they want.
Nothing in it for FSU, at all.
Oklahoma has played or has scheduled every team on this list
Penn St - Pitt - West Virginia
We used to play Southern Miss almost every year.
There was a stretch when we would play them at the Crampton
Bowl in Mobile. (1/2 way for both schools)
The other division? You mean I-AA (or FCS)? They already do that. I'm not sure how good those teams they play from the FCS are, however....Mercer, Chattanooga, Charleston Southern, Western Carolina, Arkansas, etc.Alabama and anyone good in the other division would be nice to see.
