Reading that Penn St-Pitt may not play again until 2030 "inspired" me to revisit this topic. I just love the thought of these games being played on an annual basis. I'd like to see each team have at least one OOC rival each season. I guess it's difficult to get these games scheduled due to most teams having conference affiliation. Back in the day, as recent as 1990, several of these teams were independent. I'd like to give a shout out to the teams that do have a traditional OOC rivalry game.

Air Force - Army - Navy
Clemson-South Carolina
Colorado-Colorado St
Georgia-GA Tech
Florida-Florida St
Iowa-Iowa St
Kentucky-Louisville
Notre Dame-USC

----------

Now, games I'd like to see started or rekindled:
Arkansas-Texas
Boise St-Oregon
BYU - Utah - Utah St
Cincinnati-Louisville
UConn-UMass
Florida-Miami
Houston-UTSA
Indiana-Kentucky
Kansas-Missouri
Maryland-Virginia
Memphis-Vanderbilt
Michigan-Notre Dame
Nebraska-Oklahoma
North Carolina-South Carolina
Notre Dame-Ohio St
Penn St - Pitt - West Virginia
Texas-Texas A&M
VA Tech-West Virginia
...and probably more.

I also think it would be pretty cool if a tradition could be started in which the 8 blue blood programs played each other on a consistent basis. This may be more realistic than my above idea.
(in alphabetical order)
Alabama
Michigan
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Ohio St
Oklahoma
Texas
USC

What games do the rest of you want to see?

I'm with ya, Phil. Let's get that Boise / Oregon rivalry going and run that series to 4-0 Boise and continue to build on it from there.

Alabama/Penn State was a long series in the 70s. And up until expansions and conference switching became popular, Alabama played Southern Miss pretty often.

We used to play Southern Miss almost every year.

There was a stretch when we would play them at the Crampton
Bowl in Mobile. (1/2 way for both schools)

Never really considered it a rivalry due to the fact that one side keeps waxing the other.

USC and Notre Dame as well as Oklahoma and Texas and Ohio State and Michigan already play every year so you want them to also play another of this group?

never really considered it a rivalry because its not played often. 3x over 10 years.
and by waxing you mean 3 games decided by a total of 26 points. avg margin of victory of less than 9?

Yeah, when it's a mid major doing that against a P5? And one that at the time of at least a couple of those was supposed to be considered top 10 rated? Yep, you can consider that pretty bad.

Gonna be a while until KU and MU play each other in anything that isn't forced upon them by the NCAA (like March Madness)

Maybe Rudy's grandson will be able to suit up for the game, and unlike his granddad, not jump offsides.

Not considered top 10, those were top 10 Oregon teams. They finished 9th and 11th in the two seasons you mentioned. And that’s after getting handled by Boise. If they wouldn’t have had to face them and lose they would have finished much higher in the rankings.

OU-Nebraska (they have it scheduled but it should be every year. Nebraska come home)
OU-Arkansas (it's just stupid they don't play. Arkansas has went to shit every since they jumped to the SEC)
