I don't think it was an accident that they signed Hurd. He is a good run blocker. But also, the guy you brought up a few posts back, Noah Brown, he is a great blocker. When both of those two are on the field, it will most definitely scream run. So the task will be to get Noah on the field without tipping their hand. Get him to run some fly routes early on. You don't think the addition of Thompson and Hurd would open it up more than Dez and Witten? If we played with 2 wides, I don't see any defense fearing that. But add in two more and now they have to bring in a tweener LB that can run or hope their nickle package can handle us. Zeke should be eating all day with that.

Naw, I do think Dez and Written commanded much more defensive attention then anyone on the roster can or will. Even with their declining skills, they still commanded defensive respect

Meant to comment on this when you posted it last week.
These rookies like Freeman, Guice, Barkley and Chubb... I think it's a dangerous think for a coach to "anoint" a rookie as a starter before OTA and camps begin.
I know it's happened before and did not go well although I can't recall any specific examples.
