Flip 1 and 4.

Really? Interesting. I guess I just trust they can find the goals from Giroux, Voracek, Couturier, Konecny, and Patrick. Plus Ghost and Provorov were two of the highest scoring dmen in the league. And Simmonds should rebound a bit if he's healthy.

Having MacDonald, Gudas, and Manning (or someone similar) playing 15+ minutes/night again is a nightmare to me. And I think AMac had a pretty decent season this year. Prov/Ghost is great. I think Sanheim can be a top 4 guy next year. But if you can find one more and push AMac to the 3rd pair I think the defense is in a real good spot.

And I don't trust Hak to put Morin or Myers in a top 4 spot next year for one second. And I don't think he'll put two of Sanheim, Morin, and Myers on the same pair.

We have young talent at D... and I don't expect Giroux, Voracek, or Couturier to all match their career numbers. Patrick getting better will help fill some of that gap, but I'd take a winger over a D man that will sit one of our young guys.

I'd flip 3 & 4. I think Elliott's injury kept him from getting to the form he had earlier in the year when he carried the team.

I like Elliot, but I'm not totally sold on him. Not even looking at the playoffs where he was clearly affected by the injury.

Regular season he was 24th in GAA and 33rd in sv% among goalies that played at least 25 games. He made some timely saves and what not, won them some games, but those aren't good numbers.

That's fair. I guess some of my concern on D is I don't think Hak will play 5 guys 25 or under. If Ghost, Prov, Sanheim, Myers, and Morin all make the squad, I'd be OK not adding a dman. But I don't see that happening. I think Mac and Gudas will stay in the lineup and drag down the 2nd and 3rd pair.

(obviously the Hak issue sways my opinion of 'need')

Admittedly forgot about Hagg here. He's definitely not going to play 6 guys 25 or under haha. But it gives me a little bit of hope that he'll play 5 guys 25 or under since Ghost, Prov, Hagg, Sanheim all have some NHL experience under their belts. Would only have to bring in 1 true rookie to hit 5.

Yeah, I just think in the end, the kids win the jobs in camp and we're not playing Gudas unless somebody is hurt or tired.

And yeah, Hagg is in that conversation as well.

I could see a D of Ghost, Prov, Hagg, Sanheim, (Morin/Myers), Mac.

I get why a coach would be nervous with the lack of experience there... But can they learn while being better than Gudas?

Maybe you cant read so well so i will spell it again for you. I dont want to put all the Flyers eggs in one basket. Nobody said he wont be a solid starter. AND im getting the 3-5 year "shit" as you put it from zero 20 year old goalies have ever won a cup. So slow your roll and stop sipping Hart's Kool aid

Lol You're fucking terrible.

Patrick Roy won the Cup (and the Conn Smythe) in 1986 with Montreal.

He was exactly 20 years old.

Tom Barrasso won the Vezina in 1984 at age 18.

And yes, much more recently, Matt Murray has two Cups at age 23.

Don't talk hockey when you know next to nothing about it.

I'd love to see it and agree 100% that's the best d lineup the Flyers can ice. Also think that's a d-corp I would roll with and deal with the growing pains.

If you're Hextall, this is a stupid issue to have since you could fire him, but do you trust Hak to put that group out there on a consistent basis?

Screw it, i'm convinced. Top 4 dman drops down my list. 3C is my new #1.

This would be awesome. Add another puss to a team full of pusses. If you've ever heard the saying fool me once shame on you, if you fool me twice shame on me. You're the guy who gets fooled twice.

Hey, someone here has to correct your bullshit talk. If I have to be the one, so be it.

Roy is the only goalie of all time so id say that puts the odds in the favor that hart will not be winning a cup at 20

Vezina trophy ? Who cares about that? Unless you would want that instead of a cup

And finally Murray at 23 is exactly what im talking about 3-5 years.

Rofl!!

You are aware the Stanley Cup is only awarded once a year, correct?

Let's get that out of the way first.

Secondly, Hart turns 20 this summer, which makes him eligible to play for the Phantoms next season.

It's just important for you to know these details and to attempt to get your math straight.
