True, but the Sixers, even if they do nothing, are poised to be the best team in basketball within 2 years and for the foreseeable future. The only thing standing in their way at this point is health

Obviously, depending on what other teams do, that could change. But right now, they look to be the team of the future.

And, if the Sixers are the team that eliminates the Cavs, it would be very much like what KD did. Some of the harshest criticism has been because he went to the team that eliminated his team, not as much about them being the best team.
Def--- i dont think LBJ wants to join KD in the infamous company of--- hey you just beat my ass guys! you got a spot for me? lol

Exactly. If Lebron is focused on rings, then I doubt he is going to care much about looking bad doing it.

If rings are not the priority for him, then I have no idea what he will do.
he said his priorities are winning and family. Take that for what you will.

but, KD obtained his goal & won a ring. So, if it were to allow LBJ to achieve his goal why not?

Because Lebron has rings...KD didn't. Plus, KD has gotten destroyed for doing what he did and a lot of folks have downgraded him for it.

Lebron's legacy would take a pretty sizeable hit if he did that.

But Lebron won't catch nearly as much flack for it, IMO. The main reasons are 1) He brought a championship already to Cleveland 2) The organization is dysfunctional and his rift with Gilbert is public and 3) He's had a precedent for already leaving his other teams.

KD was brought up in that organization and spent his entire career there. Cleveland has already dealt with Lebron leaving once before and didn't handle it optimally. They will do better this time around if that happens.

Exactly. A younger Lebron might do that. I don't see a 33 year old Lebron doing that. Legacies are very important to these guys. It's why Kobe turned into "Uncle Kobe" the last couple of seasons of his career.

dysfunctional? i didnt know 3 straight Finals appearances and a championship was dysfunctional. lol....I was not aware that underwriting the highest payroll in the NBA year after year after year was dysfunctional.

I mean- LeBron and Gilbert havent liked eachother since day 1 he came back. All of a sudden thats a reason to leave? That makes no sense.

The Cavs go to the finals every year because of Lebron. Without him the Cavs are a lottery team.

Allegedly Lebron's wife HATES Gilbert and has never forgiven him for the letter.

Kobe won a boat load of championships with the Lakers. He was the face of a storied franchise that chose him over Shaq.

Lebron may be trying to get to 6 rings. If that is his primary objective going to the team that best gives him that shot makes the most sense.

You want an example of the Cavs dysfunction/Danny Boy's stupidity? Firing David Griffin. Like it or not wiggy Danny Boy is only behind the Knicks owner Dipshit Dolan as the worst owner in the league. No matter what he does he'll never be able to shake that letter he wrote when LeBron bolted for Miami.

I'm saying the reason he won't get much flack, I didn't say it was a clear reason for leaving. Everyone is aware of the tension between him and Gilbert. Is it functional? Yes. Is it optimal? No.

Again, please actually read my post. I wasn't indicating reasons for leaving, I was saying why he won't face much backlash if he does.

Do you think McCollum would fit with the 76ers?

If I'm the 76ers, I'm calling about Bradley Beal.

I don’t know about McCollum. The 76ers are very defense-oriented and he’s lacking there. But then again, maybe the rest of the team could make up for it.

My opinion of LeBron leaving again has changed this season. I've said for a while it would hurt his legacy if he left again. Now I no longer think that. Outside of LeBron the rest of the Cavs roster is dog-shit. He's too great of a player to finish his career w/ a roster full of basically nobodies.

Agree.

You can't trust anybody on that roster, except MAYBE Korver and Nance Jr.

And those two guys only give you role player production.

Clarkson,Jr Smith, Jeff Green.....streaky and inconsistent.

Hood, Love, Hill.....streaky, inconsistent, chronically broken.

A. I agree with you that firing Griffin was a mistake- a big mistake.

B. Gilbert helped deliver a championship by underwriting monstrous payrolls. Say what you will about him, but without his check book underwriting the highest payroll in the league year after year after year- the Cavs likely do not have a championship. That alone puts him in hallowed company among NBA owners. If i had the choice of any owner in the league Gilbert would be near the top because you know he will outspend just about everyone else and is supremely motivated to win. That is indisputable. A lot of the rest is just noise.

C. "Never be able to shake it off"--- uhh--- i beg to differ. I would consider hefting the NBA Championship Trophy a pretty effective way to "shake it off".

LeBron and Love.

Look at the rest of the guys--- say 3-10 on the roster.

Oh yah- and Kevin Love has been an all star the past 2 seasons.

who, besides probably Boston, has a more talented 3-10 in the East? I would argue no one.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Obviously he wants more rings, so thinking he wouldn't stoop to a level of teaming up with other good/great players to obtain more is asinine IMO. Especially when he's already done so - more specifically he went to Wade's team. Also, he's not going to be able to play at this level for much longer as we all know father time will set in and getting established with a younger crew is just what he'll need to win NOW.

I think this series will go 7. LeBron can't trust his teammates & you never know from game to game if the Cavs will play some D for 4 quarters.
