I think he will take every last dollar. The percentage of NBA players that dont take every last dollar is not high thats for damn sure. Its why there was such a stink when Lou resigned with LAC and people freaked out that he got a terrrible deal. It just doesnt happen that often. It is without a doubt the exception and not the rule.

I get that, and I think if the deals were significantly apart, he'll take the larger figure. But again, who is going to offer those sort of numbers for a 34 year old guard? The teams with the most cap space are in rebuilds.

i dont think that matters. Like the Sixers this year- they paid 23 M to just limit themselves to 1 year--- if a team has cap room they will go for it.

I mean even take a team like the Kings--- a good way to try and help develop your point guard in Fox- and say your new big man in Bagley- is to have a knock down shooter next to them. Not that i think necesarily the Kings are this great option--- but every single team in the league is looking for guys that can CONSITENTLY hit a 3 more than 40% of the time. Those guys just dont grow on trees and they make your whole offense go - whether you are a contender- or you are trying to develop your young guys in an environment where their brains arent being bashed in.

Kings just tried this with Zbo, George Hill and Vince Carter. I'm not sure they'll go that route two years in a row. Could be wrong though.

Yes, but from who? You think he'll leave Philly for a 2 year 16M to go to say Atlanta or Brooklyn for 2 years 24? At 34 years old?
His family lives in NY and he commutes back and forth.

So, maybe Brooklyn could pry him loose for big bucks.....maybe not.

But, definitely not Atlanta.

He turned down more money from Houston to sign with Philly.

So, passing on bottom feeders isn't that outlandish of an idea...lol

Philadelphia 76ers guard J.J. Redick discussed his free-agency experience on his new UNINTERRUPTED podcast released Wednesday, saying the Houston Rockets offered him more total money but not a role he wanted.

"It wasn't about the money. Houston offered me more money than Philly. Total money. They offered me more money," Redick said (h/t Michael Kaskey-Blomain of 247Sports). "I knew in Houston, I was going to come off of the bench. Me and Eric Gordon do a lot of the same things... It wasn't necessarily going to be what I wanted at this point in my career for the court part of it."

He's already turned down guaranteed money last Season.

So, maybe he won't want to do that again.

Or....

Maybe it's a sign that fit, role are equally as important.

If Wade and Bosh took a haircut for LeBron, JJ fricking Redick can too.

this series is going 7, at least i HOPE it does...

likely to see a fight before this one's said and done...
Yeah, it's chippy.

....and we haven't even seen Embid vs. Whiteside yet.

If I had to guess, I'd say Simmons and Winslow are gonna throw hands.

I hope not. But, there's smoke...

I think he will EASILY get a 2 year 24M deal. I dont even think thats a question.

The market is definitely not what it was a couple years ago---- but a ace sharp shooter like him will always have substantial value. Korver is ancient and gets about 7.5 a year.

Kyle Korver is 3 years older than JJ Reddick.

Prior to last year, Reddick never made more than $8 million a year. Yet you think he is going to get a 50% pay raise in his year 35 season? Who is paying him that?

agreed...

i'm not saying that they should put a crease in anyone's nose over a basketball game, but this kind of intensity is what playoff basketball is all about...

yah i have no doubt about the above bolded

I would be MORE than willing to bet you that Redick signs a deal for over 10M a year AND that if LeBron goes to Philly that Reddick will not be there.

You win if EITHER of these things happen--- Reddick gets less than 10M a year--- or Reddick resigns with the Sixers if LeBron is with the Sixers.

I win if--- LeBron signs with the Sixers and Reddick is gone--- or if Reddick gets a contract averaging over 10M a year.

We pick eachothers avatar for a month.

Deal?

2 summers ago you swore the Warriors would have to blow up their bench for Durant, right?

It would come down, more then likely, how bad LeBron wanted him there.

I see it as he took hi highest AAV because he believed in himself and knew he could just hit the market again in a years time.

Trust me- 3 pt shooters that conistently go over 40% arent going out of style in todays game. Id be SHOCKED if he gets less than 2 years 24. The guy just averaged a career high in points, shot 42% from the field and 90% from the line. He will be in demand to say the least.

I agree with you.
I think Williams took less because he liked living where he does.

I can't see the twitter posts right now but I assume this is in relation to Dragic scoring with a few seconds left?

Personally I think it is bullshit and players should play to the buzzer. But some players get miffed by that. I remember there being some discussion about this when Saric casually put in an easy layup and someone threw the ball into his back.

Regardless, how did the Sixers run up the score in Game 1? The bottom of their bench played the last 2 or 3 minutes.

Who are the 3 point specialists making $12 mill a year?

Like Dragic said, Sixers kept shooting 3s until game 1 ended.

At the end of the day, unless it changes who covers the spread, who cares?

The last shot was with 25 seconds left in the game. Their last 3 point attempt was with 90 seconds left.

Dragic is recreating history to defend himself. Either say you didn't know about the tradition or say you don't care about the tradition. I'm cool with either answer. Don't justify it with a mostly bullshit excuse.
