With a crazy storm approaching this weekend that will deliver thunderstorms and snow all over the midwest, Michigan, Wisconsin and Northwestern have all canceled their spring games set for this weekend.

I'm pretty bummed about it because it was our first chance to see the new group of QB's at Michigan; specifically McCaffrey and Patterson. How am I supposed to over-hype someone this Summer if I don't have epic spring game footage to reference?

With all these educated people at these universities one would think that someone would have mentioned a retractable roof on these joints where bad weather is a normal occurrence.

For once, looks like Canada got one over on us.:frusty:

I can't imagine ever having to pay for a spring game. There has never been a Spring game I've attended that I would have paid for; especially lately because they broadcast the damn things on TV now days. I don't understand why people pay for them.

News flash, they also broadcast regular games on TV. Also, it's $10... not like a regular game ticket. Lots of programs charge a nominal fee these days.

Sure, but paying for an actual game is different in numerous ways. Paying for a glorified practice is stupefying. It's usually entertaining only in watching specific players for how it might impact Fall.

True which is why they are not priced the same. But the athletic department still has to pay all the support staff surrounding the event. Bigger attendance also means more support staff.

Sure, the air temp but the "feels like" temp was much higher because of the sun. I ditched my jacket both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. I gladly would have sat out in that weather.

Ummm, humidity is what the "feels like" temp is based on, not the sun.

Michigan has all the concessions open and volunteers usually staff those. I have to imagine just that alone more than pays for our spring games in terms of cost. I just dont' get the demand some schools have for spring game attendance. Honestly, if it were as busy as a normal game I might not go just because it's not worth the hassle.

False, you're referencing "heat index". The "feels like" temp referenced is usually based on a number of things:

For accuweather:
"The RealFeel® uses multiple factors including the temperature, humidity, cloud cover, sun intensity, and wind to explain how hot it feels outside."
