I'd be curious to know how many mound visits have been made in past.

A shitton. Particularly when you include visits by players, which this rule includes.

I'm glad about it. The visits were ridiculous. You're a battery in MLB, you should be in sync with each other.

I still don't see why we need mound visits at all. If you can't handle the pressure of the game and need someone to calm you down then find a different career. If you are afraid the other team is picking up your signs then that is on you. Change them the next inning.

I am basically an "old school" kinda fan. This rule doesn't bother me. I know the pace of play talk is geared toward younger, newer baseball fans. No problem with that (to a point).

For me, I have never had an issue with how long the games take. And now, with social media/cell phones, I can stare at my device like an idiot. And send dick pics.

You've got my cell number, right, Champ?

I don't understand this nonsense about "well, there's no penalty discussed in the rule." Every rule in the book doesn't explain what the penalty would be if was broken.

"but, what if a batter takes a third strike but refuses to leave the batter's box?"

They're rules. If they're not followed, there will be penalties. STFU.

But if the pitcher and catcher need to discuss signs I don't see where there is a penalty defined if the catcher just says F you to the ump and goes out anyway.
Do you see where there is a penalty defined if a batter hits a fly ball that's caught, but he goes to first anyway and refuses to leave?

You mean in the rule that says the batter is out when the ball is caught?

What kind of drugs are you on? And why aren't you sharing?

Everyone on the field will tell him to GTFO.

Just like you and this thread.

Yep. I'd assume the same if they're not following the mound visit rule. Ejection and possibly suspensions/fines.

Since every rule in the book isn't immediately accompanied by a detailed description of the penalty for breaking it, I don't understand why people are expecting one for this rule. Just doesn't make sense to me.
