Okay we are past the whole he didn't play thing let it go.

And please again show a link that Patriots players stated they did not know or kindly go piss up a frozen rope.

Were you living under a rock at the time?

I'm not doing a favor for you because you are lazy, so go to google and find out.

Really who? I mean here we got Dmac one of the more respected guys on the team stating we all knew. So who exactly said they did not know?

Eric Rowe came out that he did not know that Butler was out (and thus did not prepare for it) ... which seems kind of odd for the guy who at least for considerable stretches of the game was the de facto replacement of Butler, covering the guy that Butler most likely would have covered.

I sure would like to see that link. Rowe was the one guy the Pats knew was aware of the Eagles playbook so that "Suggested" comment makes no sense at all.

Came out the day after the SB. No idea anymore where I read it, and I have better things to do than look for that link.

Funny, BTW, that it took over two weeks for someone to come out that they knew that Butler was out. Why did they not do so immediately? And why did the hoodie not say so immediately?

Too funny. A player who didn't play in the SB is getting more attention than the entire SB winners.

East PA salt is some of the tastiest in the world.

Since you have all the answers and us dumb ass Patriots fans don't, why don't you give us all of the facts?
Kinda what I was thinkin'

Well he got worked. My son is a Pats fan & he said at the start of superbowl he needs to worry about Rowe which was an early pick on. (& I have no idea who Rowe was)
So Rowe coming up with a " I wasnt prepared because I didnt know scenario" ........SHOCKING!
Every pass that went his way my son pointed out to me. LOL

I can care less either way, but I can fully understand this as being true. Why would McCourty who has a longer future than either of these guys lie, when BB can turn his day into a nightmare for speaking up?
I admit I dont know the truth for sure. but since one didnt play & the pother got burned. Those two might be the last guys I listened to in this turmoil.

Rowe is in no way way a #1 or #2. He's a nice nickel for bigger slower TEs and WRs.

Philly knowing Rowe were salivating seeing him out there in coverage. IMO Bademosi would've been a better option. As a NE fan I was tired of watching both Butler and Rose getting beat all year.

Rowe came out saying that he practiced (and prepared) all week to play one other of the CB positions (and therefore facing one of the other WR's), and not the one that Butler played. If he practiced and prepared for such while it allegedly was known Butler would not play, that is on the coaching staff.

McCourty being a good company man. Because the only one being safe for BB is Brady, and maybe Gronk. The rest is NOT safe for BB. That is what fear-based organizations do for you.

exactly what my son was saying. He called it before the Defense took the field to me.
he actually didnt just say Rowe but Rowe & Butler. I said wasnt Butler the super bowl hero of the Seahawks game.
Shows he knew about the Pats than me LOL (& of course)

Your son knows more than some NE homers:thumb: some refuse to admit Butler was terrible in coverage this year. Even after Butlef amitted publicly he had a bad year. Thanks for the SB Malcolm and good luck but I won't miss seeing your numbers chasing WRs downfield.

Well I wont tell him that.
I accuse him of being a bandwagon fan even though he picked the team when he was real young.
It is still fun talking trash to him. You should see him roll his eyes at me when I point out referee calls, just to fuck with him LOL. Whether I like it or not, he is a true Pats fan.... I blame his mother even though she is a niner fan.

Our matron of honor lost her husband at a very young age. They have a son. At the time of his passing the child was just under a year old. I need to mention they're from WA and I'm from MA. Anyway I've kind of taken him under my wing. So naturally I started brainwashing him since day on to cheer for the Pats and Sox. One time a male adolescent was giving him crap in Seattle for wearing a NE jersey. My "nephew" was about 6 or 7 at the time. The adult asked him why he liked the Pats? My nephew responded with "well theh win don't they"? The adult was dumbfounded and walked away with his tail between his legs.

So if he practiced and prepared it's safe to assume he knew he was getting the start over Butler. Kind of adds depth to DMacs comments

No, it is not safe to assume that Rowe knew that he would be starting over Butler. For one, Rowe himself said he did not know, and to suggest that because he practiced a position, he knew he would be starting over Butler is a gross misrepresentation of what he said, and I wrote.

By your logic, a 5th string DB will either (a) not practice, or (b) as soon as he practices know he will start. Only by impossible logical leaps can one see Rowe's statement supporting McCourty's statements. By normal logic, Rowe's statements directly contradict whatever McCourty has said (as reported).

Rowe did not practice and prepare to play the position/role Butler played, but that of (presumably) of the 3rd CB (assuming Butler and what's-his-name were 1 and 2). With Butler out, he suddenly had to play Butler's position, while not having been prepared for that (in practice and film room study). Which is on the coaches.

Every player prepares, but usually in preparation focus is on a certain role within the team, focussing (normally) on certain opponents.
