I never said, nor suggested that ONLY undefeated teams should be in a playoff so your point is? I keep it simple and people keep trying to turn it into something weird.

Win your games. If you lose one don't lost to a scrub and don't get curb stomped, but any loss takes the things you can control out of your hands. It isn't over, but you have to work hard to earn that top 4. That's how you earn it. Those 4 earned that honor. Are we really supposed to cry over which team should have been 4th most deserving? I think it's just silly to even suggest it.

I just want to score. Anything past that is a bonus. I've seen 2 teams shut out in the playoffs and that is just cruel and unusual punishment(and extremely fun from the other end).

Shoutout sucks balls. That’s why I want to see it happen to another team. I don’t even dislike Alabama, but if they get shutout, I’m gonna dance a jig. Same with any other team in the playoffs.

I hope all four teams get shutout. I’d be so happy that I wouldn’t mind listening to that talking meatball tell us how he was right and Toledo should have had a shot in the CFP.

Wisconsin played 10 regular season P5 opponents (11 P5 opponents if you count BYU) which both the B1G and SEC do. Now factor in Wiscy played an extra game than Bama by playing in the B1G championship game and that leaves them with 11 P5 opponents vs Bama's 9.

IF you lose ANY you no longer have control over it. It is in the hands of the committee.

Now you want to confuse that with taking about auto bids. Auto bids get in even when their conference is down and they don't deserve it. Since out of conference games don't count toward conference records they are turned into exhibition games. It's just dumb.

Play a quality schedule and win. Don't get blown out by anyone, much less an unranked team. And if you lose, realize you just lost control of things and you sit and watch to see if/hope everyone else fucks up more.

Oh, and belong to the SEC, make sure that you've got the ear of the beauty contest panel, and play Mercer instead of Notre Dame or someone else who might beat you.

Like you, I agree that the 4th seed is a gift this year. However, you mentioned that there will be no more CFP polls. Like they are the only one that counts. Let's say, for instance, you win the Championship. You still finished 4th in the CFP poll. You finished #1 in both the AP and the Coaches. Which do you prefer? It's all a matter of perception. Wisconsin goes into their bowl game with a goal of winning and possibly a #3 final ranking(Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State all lose their next game) and they could fall as far as #10. Alabama has a ceiling of #1 and a floor of #7 or 8. Season isn't over yet.

Hint: they become entirely irrelevant. They won't count, win or lose, toward your free entry into a playoff. They won't matter at all.

If that’s what you need to tell yourself to not accept reality, I have no issue with that. You’d think the program with the 3rd most elite talent, wouldn’t get left at the altar to go to another CFB school and then replace that guy with South Florida’s coach. A coach who has been to exactly 1 bowl game (they lost) and has a losing record as a HC.

Maybe FSU didn’t want to go the Tennessee route — so instead of shooting for the stars, they just hired the guy who wouldn’t say no.

I understand — I’d be bitter too. It isn’t a good look when a school is left at the altar for another school. If it were the NFL, you just wish them the best, but another P5 school? Ouch. But FSU wasted no time bringing in a proven winner?
