why are we handing the ball off 200 times to a PS (maybe) running back when we need to evaluate what our future at QB can do?

regardless, Hunter shows much better vision, and hits the holes with out hesitation. he looks smooth, can't say the same for Dixion.

They are completely different types of RB's. Dixon is a power back, Hunter is a speed back. Of course Hunter is going to look much more smooth. They are perfect compliments to each other but neither is a combo back. Dixon has hit the holes very well this game against starters. They both looked very impressive for what they do. You can't expect them to have the same running style, if you do you'll be disappointed.

The 49ers blockers have destroyed the Raiders front tonight

glad to see the score and nice to see the line work why aren't we letting or QB throw the dang ball. It's like they don't want us to see an honest evaluation between Smith and Kap

agreed. Announcer said "all three 49er RB have used a lot of cutbacks) he already forgot about Dixon :)

Dixon probably had the most impressive cutback of the night actually. He's leaving out Gore who barely played tonight.

Lets not forget that Hunter has been working almost 100% against back ups while Dixon played against starters. Gore only played on series. I do think we have a good future 1/2 punch though

It's not about the numbers, it's that Dixon dances and hops around in the backfield, while Hunter attacks the hole. Which I assume comes down to Hunter having better vision.

Kilgore with several nice blocks tonight...against back-ups but still. Nice feet and leverage.

BTW I really like Kilgore as well. We look like we've done a good job drafting. Not huge names but these guys can play.

Dixon SHOULD be a power back. He doesn't play like one. He had a few runs where he played to his strength, but his slowing down and dancing is completely negating his power.

I don't expect them to have the same running style at all, I'm evaluating Dixion with hopes of him being a nice power back. He hasn't shown it.
