Ya know...call me crazy, but I thought I read somewhere last yr that Morelli is very, very giving towards the home team...I think it was before a Pats game last yr...I could be wrong, but pretty sure this guy favors the home team big time.

True... he is... But when the visiting team is the Eagles he takes it to a whole other level. And frankly, the Detroit game last year was probably even worse; his bias was good for a 14 or maybe even 21 point swing directly in favour of Detroit.

The refs were absolutely pure trash tonight. I dont even care that Philly had 11 penalties for 125 yards and 1 penalty for 1 yard for Carolina. It was absolutely horrific penalty after horrific penalty. Just absolutely terrible. I saw about 5 missed holding calls on Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham. They call touch PI calls on Philly making it impossible to play CB and Alshon get mugged and NOTHING.

Go watch the late hit on Philly turning a 3rd and 15 into a first down. Yes it was stupid he even touched Cam but if you watch it again in slow motion he barely grazes Cam and Cam does his Lebron James flop and they throw the flag.

Best part if go watch Cams amazing dive towards the end zone. He is walking off the field joking, laughing, smiling and the camera zooms in and he grimaces like he's hurt.

NOW RIP AWAY CAUSE I DESERVE IT!
Just be be clear...

You were saying it whether the eagles won or lost. Don't hide behind the victory. :suds:

Friday morning thought of the day: I wonder if those that whine about refs realize that half the time there is a fan of the other team just like them whining about the same refs screwing them...

I agree how everyone complains but this is all over Philly newspapers, all over talk radio, pro football talk has an article on it. There's something going on. Last two games 25 penalties to 3. 25 to 3. Something ain't right Jarntt.

Totally Agree. Philly needs to stop committing penalties:noidea:

True but when you lose it sounds like sour grapes. I'm glad this is getting big.

That's the thing dude. There were so many absolutely horrific calls. This is different Jarntt. Why do the Eagles only commit a ton of penalties and the other team is flawless only when one crew refs. The disparity last night never happened in the history of the NFL. Phantom call after phantom call. The point is there weren't penalties. It was garbage

I don't know but it can't be many more for either side. 250 yards penalized to 19

I can recall a few that were called last night and then declined or offset.

I agree with that too but again this is different. Go look at the pro football tall article. Go look at the Philly papers. It was abysmal and it's always the same crew.

This doesn't apply cause this disparity never happened in the history of the NFL. This was a travesty.

It is Interesting but I don't believe in conspiracy theories about stuff like this. I believe in coincidences. Was this the ref?

At what point does a coincidence stop being a coincidence, and something of a pattern?

I think Morelli has clearly reached that point where the Eagles are concerned.

And to some extent I think this is working for a team like Alabama as well - simply due to the reputation of the program. Nothing conspiracy about it. Similar patterns exist in other sports as well.

What interesting is I've always hated people who cry like I am now. The first time in 40 years if watching football I started to question the refs last year vs the Lions. 15 penalties to 2. Everyone was huge. 80 yard bombs taken away on phantom holds. It made me wonder cause that game was the most lopsided betting outcome. All the money was on Philly. Then last night pops up. Same crew, same beyond abysmal calls over and over. LET ME FIND OUT THAT ALL OF THE MONEY WAS ON PHILLY AGAIN AND IT'S GONNA BE A PROBLEM. Always hated cry babies, but this is four straight only with this crew.

This I agree with. I at first included "tendencies" after coincidence but didn't feel like having the discussion so I deleted it. Tendencies for players get them more penalties - a particular WR pushing off. And of course tendencies start to exist for refs and they call penalties that way too. If a particular ref (right or wrong) expects a particular player to hold he will see it. EVERYONE Holds. Some get called and some don't. If Rodgers or Brady does something it isn't a penalty, but if Dak or Wentz does it is. refs are human. It's like the opposite of the "makeup call" but just as valid. My only point was there isn't blatant cheating going on.

Doesn't the league review every single call of every single game? If so, if it isn't a coincidence and if there is any validity to this pattern it will be found. Unless we think the league is behind this

Good post but hypothetically the league doesn't have to be involved... just a few refs like in the NBA.
