One of the articles was dated Dec 6th 2016...which was during last season. The other article obviously was after the season but well before training camp. Carson Wentz worked on his mechanics quite a bit in the offseason. Do you have anything relevent...say during this season that shows his mechanics are bad and will shorten his career (which is stupid to suggest anyway IMO)? So far it is obvious you have not seen much of Carson Wentz at all. I am not saying he has corrected his motion problems completely but has worked hard at improving them and will only get better as he works more to improve it.

Exactly... and Ford is a good poster I respect but Wentz has been fabulous for a "project" QB that was drafted knowing he needed time to develop. I've never heard anyone say we should expect a short career cause of his mechanics and tou know the Philly media would be on that like flies on crap

I've been pleasantly surprised with the D laying the lumber the way they've been so far. Hadn't seen this in years.
yeah and I'm not very happy about that:mad2:

Well you know Dallas wouldn't say they'd take Wentz #1. Dak is good. Very good. But Wentz is your prototypical QB and Dak is more like a McNabb. It is debatable cause neither is there yet but I really respect Ford but Wentz is gonna have a short career cause he throws odd. Thats ridiculous
Well if it's debatable then telling someone they are not objective and saying that every single GM in the league would pick one over the other as if it's a stone cold lock is probably not being objective, correct?

short career issue: Don't be like Mike Francesa and cling to one comment as if it's the whole argument. Wentz has had issues with his mechanics. I'm not saying anything about his mechanics this year or the impact on his long term ability or health. I like him and think he'll be good. Some QBs never actually develop great mechanics and go on to have long, successful careers, but it was an issue that affected his performance last year according to his own team. I'm not a QB mechanics expert or a doctor and I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I think we can debate it but I'm still saying EVERY GM ties Wentz and that's not a knock on Dak. Wentz did struggle last year and he is not a star now cause it still pops up. The reason I will admit I'm being homerism is cause last year Dak was simply better. It's always hard comparing players and hate to use the old routine but Dallas hhas a much much much better O.

Wentz and Dak play have different skill sets so I think it is hard to say if one GM will take one over the other. I have been saying since last year that Wentz was the better QB. I still believe that.

Good thing for the rest of the NFC East that the Skins lost last night. Had they won in KC that would have been a pretty big statement even if they disappeared for a while during that game.

I though the skinz looked pretty damn good even though they lost.

But I also feel that it shouldn't have been as close as it was if the KC receivers would actually catch the ball. Alex is a damn good QB and his receivers let him down time and time again.

Thats fair, now flatly saying EVERY GM would take Wentz over Dak is complete BS, since nonebof us know what they'd do.
No this is not pointed at you.

It's not BS. There's a definite difference between the two. One has the potential to be a very good QB in this league and one has the potential to be the very best QB in this league.

That was last year again when Wentz and his mechanics were struggling and Dak was looking like the ROY. There is a difference between the two.

The article is from September 27, 2017. Here is the first paragraph with bold for emphasis:

Now that we are almost at the quarter mark for the NFL season, I thought it would be a good time to check in on the sophomore quarterback class. Jared Goff is showing tremendous improvement this season, while Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott continue to impress. In fact, Goff and Prescott will meet on Sunday when the Rams visit the Cowboys (1 p.m. ET on FOX). If you had to choose one of these signal-callers to build your team around, which one would you pick? I reached out to five NFL personnel executives to get their thoughts on the subject. Here are their answers.

Let me reiterate that..."now that we are almost at the quarter mark for the NFL season". Please explain how that is from last year?

I am probably as big a homer there is. That is not why I chose Wentz of Dak but I don't think there is any way you can say that all GM's would take one QB over the other. A GM if doing their job right will look at their personnel and see who would be the better fit. Teams that are in rebuild mode.....maybe.....but if three out of 5 say the would take Wentz that is fine but all of them did not. In fact one of them only gave a slight nod to Wentz making the rankings really, really close. So in reality I would be more comfortable saying 50/50 myself.

You do have a point there cause Dak is the perfect fit. So I'm willing to say I was wrong. 31 GMs would say Wentz :)
