Okay be an ass

Excuse me? Who is being the ass?

You're the one slamming this down everyone's throat.

Don't say stupid things and expect people to not respond... You've been lucky man have just let you ramble on thus far. If you want to continue to talk about this issue go to the political forum. Don't hijack numerous threads then when someone calls you our or disagrees act like they're being an ass.

How about that college Bball scandal?

You knew this was going on, but still it is astonishing in the scope and the dollars involved. I'm sure there is much more to unravel still. That's just Addidas.

This board is divided......

This is just a show of " hey look ! we're doing something ! " BS. Take down a prominent coach who was attracting too much attention that was a bad Apple in this multi-million dollar " corporation. They needed to feed somebody to the wolves and Pitino was the guy. They'll charge a few more assistant coaches, a AD here and there and it will blow over and they ( the University's ) will go back to what's most important, getting top athletes by way of bribes, to come to their schools. They'll just find different ways now to solicit. There's too much money involved and more " players " ( not athletes ) involved in this than any of us know. Money will prevail. Always has, always will. Ya just got to throw a bone the other way once in awhile. Pitinos the right bone this time.

I spelled out my opinion. If there isn't a "cause" that would help bring change, then the people holding those beliefs should start one. Starting a cause takes financial backing. Don't be lazy and half ass by just sitting down. Do something real to bring change.
The boys and girls club, Susan B Kommen, SCORE, and dozens of other charities and organizationd benefit from NFL players.

Kaep donated over a million dollars and pledged more to help increase awareness.

Since at least 1973, NFL charities and foundations started by players, teams and coaches have created scholarships, provided funding for medical research and new treatments, built homes and hospitals, increased childhood obesity awareness and treatment, drug awareness and the importance of education, as well as school lunch programs, childhood povery awareness and assistance programs, battered women and victim abuse, suicide revention, and animal cruely.

But you and others hide and wrap your arrogant asses behind the flag, acting like youre so much better than ANYONE who doesnt agree with what you find acceptable as a means of protest.

A brief

Well screw it, 10 minute time limit.

Ill just finish with this.

Jfk once said that thise who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.

How about instead of getting all wrapped up in this sideshow, we look at the WHY for ONCE, and not the HOW.

I find it short sighted and narrow minded that anyone can look at an nfl players wealth and think that is their primary means of creating change. I also dislike the ignoring of the countless thousands of lives these teams and players touch, most of whom go on to become productive members of society, and may never have anything more than a passing interest in the sport. Half i would guess who benefit from their time and generosity never even play a down of football. But the cost to these men mentally, physically, and to their families is higher than most of pay in a lifetime. Are they paid well? Absolutely. But they also, for the most part, give of their wealth and influence at a much higher rate than us normal folk, who think that "they should put their money where their mouth is".

And my apologies for calling names earlier, i spent time efiti g that first post and it timed out, preventing my changes.

It really pisses me off to see us as a nation get so divided and sidetracked about something like this, instead of addressing the issues causing the protests, or any of the hundreds of other pressing matters like korea, Puerto Rico, Harvey, Maria, fires, jobs, healthcare, etc.

So nfl players only started participating in the anthem In 2009?
Maybe we should concentrate on other issues than something that has been around less than the Kanye Taylor Swift feud.
Read the flag code and it's disrespected every 4th of July by big business

You know nothing about me. I'm the farthest from arrogant as you will find. My posts react to people posting about disrespecting a country that is dear enough to my heart that I voluntarily joined the military to serve her.

I rarely post in or get wrapped up in the politics on this site, but I feel like I should be able to join a conversation here about exactly what I posted about without being called an "arrogant ass" or being told that I'm better than others.

Screw you for assuming.
