Any team can down the ball or start a play on the goal line within 5 seconds. Maybe if the team was 40 yards aways. But not at the goal line. It's easy to reset within 1 yard of a TD.

If the Lions were at the 20 you would be wrong ... but at the 5 (or .5) yard line, you are absolutely correct. The defense may not have had time to set up properly, but that not the offenses fault. Lions have been hosed in unique ways over the years. The bullshit call on Calvin against the Bears and the pass interference in the playoffs (with Dallas) that was announced, marked off and subsequently called back (after officials discussed "the penalty"). It appears that the officials were partying on Jerry Jones' party bus the day before. We had our share of bullshit against us over the years, so if we are a little sensitive it may be with reason.

Stupid? The ball did break the plane... Yes elbow down but the ball crossed plane and they called it a TD on the field.. I didn't see anything to overturn it.. And every call that was as close as that one (this season) has been "upheld" so I don't see why this one wasn't as well
