I wish I was.

Odor's season is definitely fodder for a ton of dissection.

It was primarily Craig Miller, and basically he feels that Odor hasn't been coached, nor handled properly by the organization from the time he's been signed here. Miller said, "why would he (Odor) not think he's arrived when he's been given the 2nd base job, and a $50 million dollar contract?" Good question.

But consequently, Miller feels that in the meantime, he's not been coached up - insert, fundamental defense and plate discipline - and just like anything else in life, once you develop a bad habit, the harder it is to change rather than learning the proper way to do things in the first place.

For all the knocks against Ron Washington, he was an expert-level infielder coach, and probably could have straightened Roogie out in that regard.

Odor's season is definitely fodder for a ton of dissection.

What started this conversation, was the "very" negative article on Odor yesterday via ESPN, and man was it ever negative.......Miller had some pretty good points.

This was mentioned, more than once.

they can go to hell.

It was supported with some heavy facts, and those facts were pretty alarming.....I read it and now can't find it for squat.

Oh it could have all been 100% factual, honest, and true... my position would remain unchanged. ESPN can go straight to hell.

He is a great infield coach. He was just a victim of the Peter Principle.

Claudio would make a great postseason story for the media if we can make it and advance past the play-in game. I was a fan of his coming up a couple of years ago, but I never envisioned anything like what he has accomplished.

This is almost as ludicrous as saying "we should have kept him in the minors instead of calling him up."
I don't expect him to be traded, but we do have a glut of COF/1B/DH types right now so something has to give. If they need him to get a deal done for pitching I can see them including him in a trade.

I didn't listen to them talk about Odor, but I have found that dissecting baseball is not their strong suit. It isn't necessarily their ability to find facts that are available, but it is their interpretation of those facts that I have found lacking in the past. This very well may have been one of their better discussions though.

It does seem that our developmental staff is coming up short over and over again.

Well, Nap is definitely out of the picture for next year. And I would bet money on Calhoun starting the season in AAA next year, regardless of how ST goes.

The fact that he and/or Guzman would have to repeat AAA is evidence of the glut. Sometimes a glut in one area is used to trade for a lack in another area.

I wasn't even considering Napoli, but I am not certain if JD has reached that point yet. He probably has, but you just never know.

I don't see how ST will affect any of those decisions. They will have to be made before ST. Now, once ST hits an injury can alter plans like Beltre's did this year.

Gotta say, if we were to somehow come back to make the post season then this may be one of the most magnanimous comebacks I've seen. Certainly here in Arlington.
The one in 2015 where we came back to win the division after being down by 8 games in early August was pretty special. We finished 37-21 after being a couple of games below .500 in early August.
