· You would think the incessant injuries and losing season would make the Mets cautious in these final weeks, but no, they're going to let Matt Harvey pitch on short rest

on Wednesday despite just coming off the DL and getting wrecked this weekend.

Historically, I love to fuck with Mets fans because they have delusions as to where the team fits in baseball's hierarchy. I'd seen a few too many "that's rich coming from an Indians' fan" comments from Mets fans in response to my criticisms of the Mets franchise.

It's as if they think the Mets' abject ineptitude is somehow negated by the fact that they play in New York City. Fact is, the Mets' very existence makes it easier for me to be an Indians fan.

At this point, though, I'm starting to feel sorry for them. I have to imagine the delusions are starting to wear off and they're realizing they're the Pittsburgh Pirates in a big city.

Why are they even putting him out there period? It's not like they are going anywhere this year.. They are just asking to get him DL'd for the rest of his life!

Definitely NOT Snoogins ^^^^

Whatever.

Sure he had some special regular season stats and some fun anecdotal successes like his 18K game in NY or getting pissed off when Gerald Williams charged the mound. But what did that ever do for Boston?

He didn't last 4 innings into his first playoff start in 99 before breaking down. He blew the ALCS in 2003 after doing everything he could to let Oakland take the Divisional round.

It wasn't until Curt Schilling came in and took ownership of that rotation did the Red Sox finally do what they were supposed to do in October.

Pedro might be the greatest #2 starter of all time. Fine. He was never an ace when Boston needed him to be.

They are insufferable in this city (and I know Yankee fans are too, but they have do have some legit ammunition)

No franchise has celebrated a "World Series LOSS" quite like Mets fans have

The best about 2017 is the injury excuse, while in reality, the only great player to go down, was Syndegaard

Seth Lugo gets hurt, so what he sucks
Steven Matz goes down, so what he sucks
Harvey goes down, so what he sucks

I suppose that depends on what his rating is.

He fit in perfectly with the Celtics. Was the right guy for the job. Did the job.

yup. but hes not a HOFer by any stretch.

nice defensive player, but his importance to those teams wasnt nearly what people made it to be.

uhhh

what?

My bad if he wasn't referring to Pedro Martinez when referencing Severino. I just assumed it was.

Seriously, I have no idea who worked with him off-season. I just assumed Pedro meant Pedro Martinez.

pedro did, that pedro. the most dominant 7 year stretch for a guy in modern MLB (including his last year in montreal). he made koufax's over appreciated numbers look paltry, considering he was facing race horses on steroids.

The Hall of Fame curve for basketball is not what it is for other sports.

DJ was on the back nine when he got to Boston. He had a legit career before he ever played for the Celtics.

Well, since their last championship when Regan was president, they have fewer playoff berths, fewer wins, and fewer winning seasons than the Indians and they've spent a shitload more cash in doing so.
