pedro did, that pedro. the most dominant 7 year stretch for a guy in modern MLB (including his last year in montreal). he made koufax's over appreciated numbers look paltry, considering he was facing race horses on steroids.

And he broke down every year and never gave Boston what they needed to win in the playoffs.

The Hall of Fame curve for basketball is not what it is for other sports.

DJ was on the back nine when he got to Boston. He had a legit career before he ever played for the Celtics.
yup, he did

15 pts
4.5 rebounds
3.6 assists

I agree with that, and would add that you can make a case that he had the two best single season pitching performances in history.

However, regarding the PEDs, I don't assume that he wasn't also on them.

Also had an All-NBA first team in there. A Finals MVP, 5 time all star. Top 5 MVP votes one year. About 10 all defensive teams.

He wasn't a scrub.

he pitched 17 innings of scoreless ball here in 99.

17 IP
5 hits!!!

.089 BA!!

snake bitten...

2003, he wasnt great. 4.26 ERA. guys hit him at a .315 clip. .774 OPS. he wasnt good. pedro was slowly dying before our eyes. his reg season numbers were good, but K's and velocity were way down. beginning of the end.

2004 he was on fumes. 4.00 ERA. but the sox went 4-1 in those starts. thats all that matters.

he won 3 cy youngs here, a world series, and put boston baseball back on the map...and hes overrated?

I don't have kids, so I can't say for sure. But aren't car seats designed to protect the children? Shouldn't they be handled with care so to preserve their structural integrity?

99 I remember him coming out of game 1 vs Cleveland after a few innings and the Sox losing a heart breaker.

I do give him credit for what he did in relief in game five to win that series.

But in the ALCS, the Red Sox only won one game, Pedro's game. But they scored like 12 runs that day. So it's not like it was a pressure situation.

Overrated.
