yah....def true...good for them---- it def. shows how the NBA is changing. Guys arent going to PLACES any more- they are going for A. A chance to win and B. Money more so than warm weather or being close to movie stars or whatever.

before Horford- like the two below said- IF you consider him a star--- I honestly think the last significant free agent they signed was a pretty washed up Dominque.....right? ya think?

Besides LeBron, have the Cavs EVER signed a star as an FA? And LeBron had special circumstances, really being drafted there and being from Ohio, etc. So really, the Cavs have NEVER brought anyone in just fresh.

And no Shaq's old bloated ass don't count. Celtics have signed plenty of guys past their prime like that (including Shaq).

Way past his prime. Celtics had a lot of guys like that: Xavier McDaniel, Bill Walton, Dominique, Rasheed Wallace, Jermaine O'Neal, Tom Gugliotta....

lol....Bill Walton in 85...that seems to be BEFORE Dominique like i said

Kemp was way better than the rest of that bullshit you mentioned

Jermaine O Neal played 1 season in Boston at the age of 32 and went for 14 and 10 with a PER under 12. Yo uhave GOT to be fucking kidding me.

Xaiver McDaniel played 3 seasons in Boston starting at age 29--- his best year he played 27 minutes a fucking game. Never made 1 all star team in his career-- his best season in Boston was 13 and 6- you have got to be fucking kidding me.

Dominque is the last one i said- he played ONE season in Boston at the age of 35. averaged 17.8, 5.2. You have GOT to be fucking kidding me.

Tom Gugliotta--- LOL- are you a moron? he played 20 games in Boston. LOL. 1.2 pts per game... i mean- are you fucking wasted right now? you have to be

Rasheed Wallace.....played ONE YEAR IN BOSTON AT THE AGE OF 35---- kind of seeing a pattern here? 9 points, 4 boards coming off the bench

Shawn Kemp- played 3 years in Cleveland- came there at the age of 28. First year went for 18 and 9.3, 2.5 and made the all star game. That ONE all star apperance is more than all the fucking shmucks you named combined. His third year in Cleveland he went for he went for 18 and 9.

Those 2 seasons blow away ALL the fucking Shmucks you named--- either one of those two season are so much better than any thing anyone before dominque did its ridiclous.

I mean- i cant believe those are the best- you have to be wasted- there has to be guys better than that LOL.

for fucks sake- Larry Hughes was a pile of flaming garbage and he was light years better than the wretched pieces of shit you mentioned.

Bro, Kemp was a fat, drunk baby making machine the year after he landed in Cleveland.

He was cooked. But, too pickled to realize it.

I will give you Hughes.

He still had upside and some thought he had star potential.

He didn't.

But, that's Monday Morning Quarterbacking.

Man their is some dumb shit on this thread. Here is a few thoughts:

1. LA got politically slapped. Thats all, that is all. The league needs the Lakers to succeed again
2. Sorry, but Magic johnson and the LAKERS are an very attractive locale in the next few years for FA's.
3. Boston only has had success because of Stevens, who I am nervous is starting to be discussed as if he is Red A or Popovich level, not even close yet. Needs a few rings
4. FA's are not coming to Cleveland Wiggy. As I posted earlier this summer its time to blow it up. Ask Lebron to waive his no trade and send him as a one year rental for maybe a low/mid first rounder

Im not saying he was prime Kemp- far from it--- but 18 and 9 and an all star appearance blows away the absolute stinking piles of garbage he suggested. I mean- did you even read my post?

1 year of a 35 year old Sheed?
20 games of Tom gugliotta averging 1.2 points per game?

I am sure thats what you are and every Celtics fan is hoping- because if LeBron resigns for another 2 years--- LEBron will be leaving/retiring right when the Sixers are ready to smoke the fucking Celtics.

the Celtics window will be non existent.

Ask LeBron to waive his NTC and send him somewhere for a low/mid first rounder?

Seriously?

You do realize that Lou Williams and Bojan Bogdanovich went for mid/low first rounders last year, right?

Aside from that, LeBron has clearly stated that he isn't waiving his NTC and it is not in the Cavs best interest to deal him anyway. They are easily the biggest threat to the Warriors (still very mild threat), especially if they flip the Nets pick (they shouldn't unless LeBron extends).

thats just wishful thinking by a Celtics fan that knows as long as LeBron is in Cleveland there is no way the Celtics can get out of the East.

and as i said--- if LeBron stays for another 2 years after this one--- as soon as he leaves/retires....Simmons/Embiid/Fultz/Saric- will still be on their rookie deals- or in their RFA seasons----- and the Sixers will be able to add a major piece or two via free agency

I would not want to fuck with a Sixers team that adds a star or two in free agency to that core in a year or two. Thats scary.

Dude, Kemp was shit.

Then the Cavs doubled down on the stupidity and gave his fat ass even more money.

Those other guys you listed were garbage. But, nobody gave them 100 fucking million at that stage of decline.

I will give you Hughes. But, Lmfao @ you using Kemp. Shit, Bynum might have been a better investment.

  1. The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired five-time All-Star Shawn Kemp from the Seattle SuperSonics in 1997.

In a three-way trade, the Cavs shipped All-Star point guard Terrell Brandon and Tyrone Hill along with a first-round pick in exchange for Kemp along with Sherman Douglas.

In 1996, Kemp led his team to the NBA Finals and was a walking highlight reel during his entire tenure in Seattle.

Kemp's time in Cleveland, however, didn't go as well.

Dealing away Brandon was bad enough for the Cavaliers. To make matters worse, Cleveland then renegotiated Kemp's contract to pay him over $14 million for seven seasons.

He would join the $100 million club of NBA superstars, and Cleveland would live to regret every penny.

At the time, Sports Illustrated's Jackie MacMullan quoted Cavaliers general manager Wayne Embry as saying, "I don't anticipate any problems with Shawn."

    But he was wrong.

The former "Reign Man" took the Cavs to the playoffs only once, and famously ballooned way out of shape the year after they got him.

His statistics appear OK in hindsight, but off the court, Kemp proved to be more trouble than he was worth.

He was later traded from Cleveland in 2000, somehow, to the Portland Trail Blazers
