One of these days a team is going to figure out that you don't have to pay big money to an average quarterback just because everyone else already has and then the market will finally correct itself. Today is not that day

YESSSS, I couldn't be happier. This is almost as good as when the Bears signed Cutler to a long term deal. Those guys are always the MVP for the Pack when we play them. Great news for all Pack fans.

Except that it raises Rodgers next deal higher than what Stafford got

Absolutely worth it. He's better than 2/3 of the leagues starting QBs. You find that man, you keep him and pay him. It just sucks for him that Rodgers is in his division.

GB owners be like:eek: they may end up pooling their shares to retain AR. GB be prepared for the r*ping of a lifetime.

BTW K. Cousins also thanks Detroit.

This is stupid money for a slightly above average QB, but DET had no options. Either do this or deal with a Cousins like situation.

Oh no, I do not like the precedent that this is setting. Andy should now get more, much more and the Bengals might not be able to pay, he goes to New England, a market that could pay this. The Pats then force Brady out to begin the "DALTON ERA" in New England and go on and win 5 or 6 more Super Bowles.

I like Stafford a lot, always have. No way he deserves to get a payday like that. But he's worth whatever a team will pay him. In the case of Detroit, they need to sweeten the pot to keep quality players.

Funny you don't use that same approach toward Flacco.....And where is @Southieinnc ?....He may have to get therapy when he finds out that Flacco's contract has dropped to #6 now and will be even lower once Rodgers and others get paid.....You guys have lost your ammo !!!! :nono:
"
Stafford's record-setting deal pushes Flacco down to No. 6 in terms of average per season. Flacco's $22.1 million per-year average is dwarfed by Stafford's $27 million per-season value.

Like Flacco, Stafford isn't expected to stay at No. 1 for too long. The money for quarterbacks is only going to go up with Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins and Drew Brees set for new deals.

For now, Stafford is the NFL's highest-paid player and maybe everyone will start asking whether he is an elite quarterback, as well."

Here I am!
If you want to justify Flacco's contract by comparing notes with what teams like the Lions do, go ahead!
This is the year the Ravens finish behind the Browns. Own it!!!!!!!
