Yup.You mean they are gone like Curtis Samuel and Noah Brown to the NFL? The same place Marcus Baugh could have went but decided to come back for a 5th year at TE?
Yup.
Nope. That doesn't even slightly make sense. michigan's roster was full of upperclassmen who got drafted. This year it's far from it. This year is the comparison. So what you are saying is...........last year was the fair comparison you were looking for.

LOL, comparing Jake Butt and Marcus Baugh pretty much is about as dumb as it gets. Baugh was half as productive as Butt receiving and nowhere near as valuable pass-blocking. Losing Butt, Chesson and Darboh isn't the same as losing Samuel and Brown. We also return 5 guys who caught double digit passes last year. You return 1 - a fullback. We also return 4 starting offensive linemen while you return 2. Are you really going to say the situations are similar now?Explain to me how it'd make no sense? UM had two WR's drafted. OSU had two WR's drafted. UM had a TE drafted. OSU could have had a TE drafted, but Baugh decided to come back for a 5th year.
Why in god's green earth would it matter if UM had 6 or 7 guys drafted from the defensive side of the ball? How did that effect Speight?

Why does losing 10 starters on defense affect your QB? Ask a QB who has a leaky, young defense how much fun it is having to be concerned about always putting points on the board to keep up. He won't be able to just game manage this year like he was able to a lot of times last year because the defense was keeping other offenses off the scoreboard.
I said Speight put his stats up last year with upperclassmen NFL players while Barrett was playing almost entirely with new pieces. Now it's Speight's turn to be doing that in 2017 while Barrett has some familiar faces and continuity back. We'll see who puts up better numbers this season (it'll be Barrett again). So OSU had a leaky defense who couldn't keep other offenses off the board?
Im lost on what you are trying to say? Didn't you say earlier that this year will be a fair season to compare?

Also, the difference between the two is undeniably that Speight is a game manager while Barrett is a playmaker.
18 TD/7 INT, -60 yards and 1 TD for Speight
24 TD/7 INT, 845 yards and 9 TD for Barrett
Night and day. Ask any team which QB is easier to gameplan for.
It's not cherry picking stats. Yards and TDs are what win games, and Barrett absolutely blows Speight away. You do know you have to be an 'upper classmen' to leave for the NFL. See Noah Brown and Curtis Samuel. Marcus Baugh will be a fifth year senior.
Also, in case you didnt know, Speight was a 1st year starter (not a 3rd year starter, like Barrett) last year. So he wasn't only getting used to playing with his WRs and RB, but playing QB in live games, period.
And you can cherry pick any stat you'd like, I could list QB rating, completion %, yards per attempt and yards per game, then say Speight is a better QB, Barrett is a better runner.

michigan had a lot more upperclassmen starting than OSU last year, hence why they lost so many more starters than us. Are you just going to choose to not respond to my pointing out how dumb it is to compare michigan's losses to Ohio State's then?
Good for Speight. He still is a game manager, no matter what year he's in, until he proves otherwise. He had a bunch of seasoned, NFL-caliber starters masking his inadequacies last year. He won't have that luxury this year, so if he isn't any better than last year, you guys are screwed.
He's trying to tell you that you should probably make a thread that has SOMETHING to do with Michigan and take up your tummystick argument there. You'd think if Barrett blows Speight away -- he'd have shown it in the game against UM. If that were the case, I'm sure OSU's offense was way better than UM in scoring offense. Your offense scored 3 points in regulation. AND you literally had the same number of NFL caliber starters as the skill positions, so I have no clue why u keep saying that.
And I apologize, but I'm lost on what you mean when you say 'I'm comparing UM's losses to OSU's?' I just don't understand what you mean by that statement?

And that's retarded. So the entire season is only based on one game? If he blows him away, he'd of shown it throughout the entire body of work, which he did. 3,400 total yards/33 total TDs blows away 2,478 total yards/18 total TDs. What's hard to understand there? You'd think if Barrett blows Speight away -- he'd have shown it in the game against UM. There was no reason for the OU/OSU thread to begin with. We know what the outcome will be.
It will be over by the 3rd quarter and we will have to listen to OU fans talk for the rest of the year about how they weren't clicking yet. Then you will run up the score on Big 12 defenses and say how different your team is now.
