PAC - Washington
BIG - Penn State
XII - OSU
ACC - Virginia Tech
SEC - Tennessee

if we are going with underdogs that stand a chance.

only 2 of those fit the alternate kirk universe scenario

Auburn - Jerrett Stidham is going to light the SEC up with a passing attack the SEC seems baffled about.
Until he meets Tennessee in the SECCG, and the Vols D sacks him 6+ times, intercepts him 6+ times, and reads him like a billboard all game long.

Let me see...

PAC - UCLA
Homer pick, of course. And if Mora finally gets his shit together, and Rosen rises to his potential, that defense can come alive!
BIG - Penn State
Gotta go with the Lions here. I know they are the LY Champs, but if two teams from your Division leap frog you into the playoffs while you get stuck playing arguably the best team in Country that didn't make the playoffs, then you can't be the favorite, right?
XII - Kansas State
I hate 'em! But I have too many milling buds that love 'em!
ACC - Georga Tech
Hard to go with anyone not named Florida State, but for chuckles, I'll go brown nose and pick the bosses Alumni, they had a decent season last year, so you never know.
SEC - LSU
Love me some Coach O! What a great story that would make! Be really cool for them Bruins beat his ass in the NC too!

So, you're saying Butch gets fired well before the end of the season then.

Stanford - Just because mother fuckers.
The Trees have won half of the PAC Conference titles since they went to 12 teams 6 years ago. Hard to say they're not a favorite, b/c they are in my book.

No. I'm saying Tennessee Team 121 overcomes, overachieves, and wins the SEC.

I know that is fashionable to diss Butch. Jones is better than Kiffin or Dooley. He's reversed the decline of the Tennessee football program. He's assembled a formidable staff, and he's got 4 years left on his contract. Any Vols fan with hope looks for the team to win, no matter what people think of the HC and his staff.

Do you want Oklahoma to fire Helton, now? If he fails to bring home the conference championship this year? The next? How many contract buyouts do you think Oklahoma should absorb rotating through head football coaches until by some miracle one wins the way fans think that they should?

Folly, sir. Shear folly.

I keep pointing out that Ohio State has been the favorite to win the conference almost every year dating back to 2010, yet has only won the conference once in that span.
We keep pointing out Harbaugh has never won a major conference championship in college football.

He should have about half a dozen by the end of the year, though
