Okay, the draft is set up, the order was randomized and is locked in, and the keeper deadline is two weeks before, that means you need to have your roster down to 3 by the end of 7/30, but if you can do it before then, do.

Again, no one should be adding players at this point, the only two who should have added players are olyduck and ericd7633, and they have already. Everyone can see if you've added players, so if you did, please drop them and replace them with guys from your last year's roster. If you happened to pick up a couple guys and do not fix this mistake, I will pick your keepers for you.

Let me know if you have any questions. The draft will be 15 rounds since we are all starting with 3.

One more thing, there is a keeper admin screen you can find under the team menu. I'm just now realizing you need to go there and check the guys you are keeping, if you do this you don't even need to drop anyone, just select the 3 you are keeping. If you've already made your drops, just go in there and check the only 3 options (guys you already decided to keep). If you don't do this, I will do it for you on the evening of 7/30 (as long as you dropped all but 3 players). I can see how this might be confusing, ask if you have questions, or as long as you only have the 3 you are keeping on your roster, don't worry about it.

Only olyduck and ericd7633 were naming guys, they're new, and were just drafting 3 guys each from the 2 teams they're taking over for because they didn't have a roster from last year. The rest of us are just picking 3 from the rosters we had last year to keep for this year.

The only reason they drafted players to add from the 2 teams is one had a way better roster than the other, so it wouldn't have been fair to stick one of the new guys with a bunch of good players to pick 3 from and the other with not so good.

To keep the spirit of the draft, we're not adding players at this point.

Also, trading draft picks is enabled, FYIzzle. If anyone wants to try to trade a keeper for a draft pick, you should be able to do that.

To clarify trading draft picks, we each have 18 man rosters, and we have a 15 round draft so everyone will have a full roster at the end (15 rounds + 3 keepers). So if you want to trade picks for keepers, if you just do a 1 for 1 trade it'll all balance out, one guy will go in with 4 players and 1 less pick, the other with 2 and 1 extra pick. If you do a lopsided trade, like offer a player and a pick for 1 player or pick, one will be short at the end of the draft and one will have 1 pick too many. I don't have a problem with that, just keep in mind if you end the draft short you'll want to pick up a free agent after, if you will end with a 19 guy illegal roster, you can either sit out the last round, or you'll need to drop someone right after.

And just one more thought about the trading picks thing, I just turned this on because it seemed like a fun extra little element to the whole thing. I don't see how it can give anyone an advantage as long as everyone works with their own best interest in mind. You cannot trade for future picks or anything like that. Just have fun with it, do your thing, if it ends with someone having an advantage, it's because someone else decided to give it to them at their own expence.

I've had a couple guys ask me to return players to their Rosters as they're figuring out who they want to keep. If you've dropped guys you decide you want to keep feel free to just pick them back up. You have until the 30th to have it figured out. Remember you don't even have to drop guys if you don't want, just need to check who you want to keep on the keeper admin page. Just have it figured out by the end of the month. I don't think anyone is looking to cheat with this keeper thing, the only issue we had with it was a misunderstanding about what we're doing. The only reason I am keeping an eye on the transaction history to begin with is to get an idea who will be available.
