Why not?
It sounds reasonable, to me.
Olynyk looks a little goofy... (and plays a lil goofy sometimes, too)... but he's a remarkably skilled 7 footer that shoots around 40% from 3 pt range.
As a role player, a team could do a lot worse.
he sucks tho. as in, sucks. short armed 7 footer who refuses to play to his size.Based on most of the other contracts over the past 2 summers, it doesn't look bad at all IMO.

state of the nba i guess.
enjoy lolPretend he is 6' 7" then.
We have a dominant C.
Boston didn't, so as Lance pointed out, the expectation level was different.
Look, I'm not saying he's anything great, but 12.5M in todays NBA market is not a big number.
exactly.I think a lot of Boston fans soured on Olynyk... at least in part... because of his inconsistency. Dude definitely was frustrating.
I don't know if it was a confidence thing or whatever... but dude would disappear offensively for many games at a time... then emerge with a 20+ pt performance... then fade into the background again... rinse and repeat.
That's been the norm with Kelly O.
exactly.
once every couple of months hed have a 19-20 pt game, then stretches of 4, 5, 3 pts for a week, then have 15.
I predict y'all will be happy with him. Dude can shoot and pass well... he also hustles and plays decent team defense.Put it this way, if he shows up at the arena and takes a healthy shit, he's done more then McBob.

Just look the other way when there's a defensive rebound that needs grabbing...

Dude has plenty of talent on offense. Skill and talent are not his problems...He was pretty much the biggest reason for the one win against Cleveland

Yeah it was Olynyks 15 points and three rebounds. Not Marcus Smart scoring 27 points and hitting seven 3-pointers.
Or Bradley scoring 20.
Or Crowder getting 14 and 11.
Olynyk was literally the Celtics 5th best player that night.
No it isn't. Not many 7 footers have the coordination and skills that Kelly Olynyk has."Remarkably skilled" is definitely an overstatement.
We're not far apart on these points. I'd add that Olynyk passes well and is a decent team defender.AW said:And he doesnt rebound or defend like a 7 footer because his arms are so short.
He does one thing well. Score. But he is wildly inconsistent.
