Nope. I'd still take Cleveland Golden State over Boston. To fit PG and Heyward into Boston's salary cap, you're going to have to send off some assets. You're not fitting them all in while maintaining the team as is.

Nope. I'd still take Cleveland Golden State over Boston. To fit PG and Heyward into Boston's salary cap, you're going to have to send off some assets. You're not fitting them all in while maintaining the team as is.

No doubt Boston has to give some guys / assets up...

But stop a minute. A core of IT, PG, Hayward and Horford is sick-@ss filthy on offense.

The remains of Bradley / Smart / Crowder / Brown will make them a tough perimeter defensive team as well.

Rebounding remains the big issue.

You're not thinking rationally because it's your team. That team together, may make you better than Cleveland, but not Golden State.

Oh I think Bradley would definitely be gone one way or another.

To me, IT + PG + Hayward is pretty similar to Kyrie + LeBron + Love.

Celtics have more youth and upcoming talent to surround that, but it just depends on who they'd have to ship out to make it happen.

My initial thought, is it puts them right there with Cleveland (as currently constructed) in the East.

I agree with all you've said -- but if it allows them to top Cleveland then it's potentially worth it. Remember when Durant got hurt at the end of the season and suddenly the Warriors didn't seem so invincible? If one of their players goes down, they're beatable. Now, do you build a team around the hope that the Warriors lose a player to injury? No. But I don't think you just throws your hands up and give up because the Warriors look invincible, either.

Look back two years. Curry got banged up and was not 100% in the playoffs. Cleveland exploited it and won the Finals. You can't just give up when you're close to the top of the mountain.
