Fultz went to De Matha, same high school as Brian Westbrook, FYI.

The Washington Post had a really good profile of him you guys may want to look up. He sounds like a perfectionist, a guy with a chip on his shoulder. He didn't make varsity as a sophomore and it still annoys him. Shades of Jordan getting cut from his high school team and coming back strong.

Sounds like the Celtics turned down Jimmy Butler for the 3rd pick in the draft ... and rumor has it that we did as well prior to trading up for the #1 pick. In other rumor it looks like Cleveland may end up with George on a one year rental which is good for us.

I think George is going to LA, which is what he wants, and he will sign a max contract.

Fultz is incredibly smooth in his game ... just great handle and changes angles and speeds fluidly. Almost a throwback in his skill set in that he uses all kinds of jab steps and step backs to create space for his shot. Offensively I think he is the perfect fit for what we need ... defensively is where he has to tighten up his game a little. He's a lot like Lonzo Ball in the sense that the ability to play good D is there (his steal and block #'s are solid), but the effort and consistency on that side of the ball are not always 100%. That being said, I think he had to spend so much energy as a one man team on the Offensive End that he conserved energy on the Defensive End.

That article was a good read. It does give me some concerns about his defense and possibly his three point shot. Something in the article struck a cored where one of the ESPN insiders say that free throw percentage is a better way to tell of a college player will have a good 3 point shot in the NBA or not. Not sure how much truth there is to that. First time I ever heard of something like that.

Yes. This is why Jackson's FT% was such a huge deal and why I was concerned when he was thought to be the #3 pick.

The Celtics may take into consideration Tatum's FT% and project that he'll be a better 3-point shooter in the pros than he was in college based off of that.

I've seen Fultz just simply not try at times on defense, which is a big concern. It's one thing to have the ability and the other to not be willing.

"Yeah, TJ put himself down for three assists a game next year. How many would you like to pledge?"

ESPN's Chad Ford on Fultz and the trade

I'm pretty excited that we were able to make the move up for him.

I am pretty excited too. Chad Ford says he sees no weaknesses in Markelle Fultz's game. That is pretty high praise.

If we could fleece Jackson for Porzingis it would be nice. Okafor and the future Sacto first?

Fultz Mom was on the radio yesterday. Sounds like Markelle has a great head on his shoulders. Basketball lifer type of kid. Definitely what we need.

All these young guys are going to surprise people next year. Energy, length and pure talent will go a long way.

I hope they let the core develop. Embiid, Saric, Simmons, Covington, Fultz should be the starters. Let them grow and then add a piece at the deadline if need be. The bench is even decent already.

We do not need Porzingas. Not only that, his agent has come out and said Porzing

Duke, I think we will be fine going to battle with what we have. I do not want Pozingis.
1. He did not want to play for us when his draft class was up. He only wanted to play for the Knicks. Fu@k him, he can rot with them
2. His agent has already said that he will decide where he is going once this contract is finished.

Do you really want to give up a talented Dario Saric, who has been nothing but a good guy to the team and the fans plus who knows what else, for that petulant 7'3" cry baby? Again, I say, FU@K HIM!

If they all stay healthy and play to their potential, I see Cleveland as the only team in the East that would be better, and that is only until LBJ leaves.

Well, Embiid is fine with Staps coming over:

Saric+ would never get it done, though.

I sure hope Coangelo doesn't' trade Saric tonight. And I hope even more it's not just because Saric is a Hinkie guy. Saric is going to fit with these other superstars perfectly. Both personality wise and game. We're building something special if we can keep it home grown. All these guys just hangout at the practice facility all the time. They will be a very tight group and that will help when they are eventually in big games.

Saric isn't going anywhere imo ... I do think the Sixers end up trading away 2 or maybe even 3 of those 2nd rounders though to move up; Okafor could also be on the move for the right offer, but I'm guessing he stays as well.

I really like Saric to come off the bench to give them an extra burst of energy on the 2nd team. He'd still play a lot with the starters but I think I'd rather go with Embiid/Simmons/Covington/Reddick/Fultz and then roll with Holmes, Saric, Henderson, TLC, Stauskas, Bayless, and McConnell on the second team until you figure out which rotation works the best there.

Philly is still involved in a lot of trade speculation. Some talk they will package their multiple second rounders to move into the first round, and even talk of a potential Kevin Love trade. I doubt the latter as they are building youth, but I could see a trade into the late first for sure.
