ARLINGTON -- In the first inning, he hustled. In the third, he shuffled. In the fourth, he lunged.

The rest of the time, he limped. Badly.

And when the night was over, Adrian Beltre left the Rangers' clubhouse Tuesday in a walking boot and sounding resigned to missing more time with another injury.

The "good" news: It is apparently not an aggravation of the calf injury that cost him the first two months of the season. The rest of the news: Beltre suffered a left ankle sprain and is likely to miss at least Wednesday's game against the Mets, if not more.

"It's tough to put weight on it right now," Beltre said with uncharacteristic softness, his hands jammed in his pockets,. "It doesn't feel great. We will say what happens in the next couple of days. But I missed 50-something games, and then to have this happen after six games -- yeah, it's a little frustrating. What can I do?"

Glad to see Elvis keep the streak alive, glad to see our bats wake up even if it is just the Mets, and the pitching I'm not too worried about. We won't give up 5 HR a night, that part I have more faith in than our bats right now. So if the bats get going at least the season will be fun. And it drives up prices for our rentals.
