The curse of Cardiac Joe. Kind of like the curse of the Defense against the dark arts position at Hogwarts.

His last three outings teams are turning on his heater. More fly balls, Ks down and last night was his first DP ground ball in some time. Can't say it's due to overuse as the Rangers have had very few save opportunities since Bush took over as closer.

The article said PTBNL or cash. I guess if Sam earns his salary we get back some of the dough.

This is one of those situations where Sam's stock is currently very low. However, he is now in the NL with a clean stats slate which might help his psyche a bit. Fresh start, new ballpark (pitcher friendly) and we all know from last year and the WBC Sam has talent. So the Rangers sold low and the Giants bought low. The Giants could reap a huge reward out of this and if they do, we collect on the 'dividends.' Not to mention given the Giants are perennial favorites to contend deep in playoffs, if Sam can perform for them as a 7th inning guy or set up man, he may have a roster slot there for years to come. The Giants are also struggling with closers, so the sky is the limit there as well.
