That is excellent recovery time.

I guess that hamate bone surgery must've gone REALLY well. It hasn't even been a month, and originally, they were saying 6 weeks.

As long as they aren't rushing him back, this is really good news.

I know its a lost season and some may say why not shut him down to get healthy for next year. He is our future but he only has a month under his belt and he was just starting to hit when he went down. I think all the experience he can get going into next year is going to benefit him and the team. I do not think they would rush him back purposely.
I heard 6-8 weeks originally and friday will be the 5 week mark of when he went on the DL so he is on the early side of his expected recovery time.

I think this team's FO is awful.

But surely even they're not so incompetent as to rush Zunino here. The season is over from a league/division competitive perspective, so they have nothing to gain by rushing him.

Of course, I'm using logic, which seems anathema to this team's training staff.

like someone said earlier this season is over if he isnt 100% there is no need to rush him back to the majors maybe get him 50-100 more at bats at the end of the season

Considering what the estimated recovery time was at the time of the injury, his current progress isn't a surprise and I can't call it rushing him either.
