Curious to see him, 24 years old and lot of hype. Looks like Setoguchi (Andreoff) and Gravel (LaDue) will be scratched tonight.

The last collegiate player who was successful there, hyped up and made his NHL debut for LA wasn't that good.

=)~~

They got schooled six ways from Sunday. Back to back 5-0 SO losses on the road, highly demoralizing. Braydon Coburn....BRAYDON COBURN....scored a backhand near bar down goal all alone in front of Budaj. That's when you know the HGs really hate you.

Hopefully Dumbo is working on something for help, and I think Budaj is looking like he is starting to get tired.

It's almost impressive how the Kings can't score. 9 straight periods in regulation without a goal is actually hard to do.

My teacher used to say the hardest grade to get was an "F" and the second hardest was an "A". You almost have to try to be that level of inept.

And they won one of those games by the way.

Kings are just really lucky that a lot of teams out West are struggling.

This supports my "analytics are part of the puzzle" theory - the Kings owned that game possession wise but didn't get a single goal. Possession means nothing if you can't translate it into scoring chances and eventually goals. It's nice and all, but it doesn't win games.

Going back to Muzzin and his analytics trophy, sell high on the dude while you can.

Kings looked much better tonight putting up 6 through 2 periods on the Panthers. Panthers started Reimer, pulled him and then put him back when Luongo let in 3. LaDue gets his first NHL point, an assist.

Both Jim Fox and Nick Nickson used the same pun last night.

"There's no Reimer or reason for that".

Carter is having a legitimate MVP Season, and the Kings were finally able to finish some chances. Interesting that Kopitar somehow did not have 1 point on any of the 6, but that new line of Brown-Carter-Pearson seemed really effective. I'm not sure I can remember Brown ever playing with Carter, so that's an interesting mix.

Hopefully Kings can get some rest on this bye week, and make a nice push towards the finish.

Bonus pick of Nick Nickson:

Right on cue! NHL Network just did a full 5 minutes on Quick working out and moving well in game simulations.

"It will be days, not weeks until his return" with a graphic saying he could return early.

With this team, I would not want him to return early and re-injure himself

You're probably correct, but as a fan, seeing him back out there doing pretty intense drills was exciting. He was moving like we're used to, and as well as Budaj has played, he just isn't Jonathan Quick, and it was hard not to be excited to see him in pads.

They also said he changed his pads and skates to much lighter versions in an attempt to prevent his injury from happening again in the future.

I was hoping Quick will get a few games with the AHL to shake the rust off

Maybe they'll recall Rick Knickle from the New Brunswick men's division 3 beer league.

If Zatkoff didn't clear (claimed by a team) and Cambell wasn't called up, I would've have said call up Hrudey, Potvin or Dafoe and see if they want to play.
