I present to you
1st ballot OG HOFer.

his playing OG didnt stop him from being 1st ballot.
When you dominate. It is known.

Martin will be 1st ballot. I dont question that at all.
To be fair Allen was as much a tackle as a guard, played all 4 spots (just not center).

No hate though he's one of my favorite all time players...my wife was one of his academic "tutors" at Sonoma State. Her job was to try to get him to just go to class and do like 1/3 of his homework lol. Says he was the gentlest, quietest, politest dude.

People getting really mad at the fact that the HOF asks the absolute moon of a OG just to make the HOF, let alone first ballot. And we have some whoppers at other positions just recently with Kuechly for example.

I don’t think Martin was as good as LA and he doesn’t have any Super Bowl rings let alone 3 rings.

The could have ended up on the same team. The Rams tried to trade up for Martin at #17 in the 2014 Draft. The Cowboys were smart to pick him at #16.
Interesting. I never heard that before. Kind of funny because it was no secret that the Cowboys wanted Donald really badly and many felt Jerry should have traded up for him. It was expected once Donald was gone they would pick CJ Mosley. Luckily they picked Martin instead. Well, luckily is an interesting term when it just led to 10 more years of nothing for the Cowboys, but you get my point.

Hey, I am not a HOF voter. Don't blame me for their neurosis when it comes to that position. I don't like it either. They just sandbagged Kuechly from the HOF. Gates didn't get 1st ballot either. I wouldn't have it as a lock.
He'll get in. Yikes though.

Dallas has even more work to do this offseason now.

Unrelated. He wasn't very good last year. I suspect it was a combination of both the injuries and his age, so of course if healthy it's possible he could be good again, but if I were a betting man I wouldn't have bet he was going to be better than average in 2025 if he played. It was time. Absolute warrior and legend and all time great, but it was time.

Sure but it's still another position you gotta fill with limited cap space and a key player you gotta pay. Unless, your guys decide to trade him for a haul.

That's just not accurate. He will retire post 6/1 I'm sure and they don't have a cap problem and like I said he wasn't very good last year so him retiring doesn't impact the play on the field very much. Also, how could we trade him when he is retiring and even if we did, who would give us a "haul" for him at this point?

Reading is fundamental. Key player you need to sign? Or extend I should say. Plays defense.

Pretty sure you only have around 10-12 mill in cap space this offseason

Yes it is and again you are wrong. On Martin with regards to the play on the field and the cap: Martin retiring has no impact on any of that. There was no drop-off after he went down with injury so there is no cap impact of replacing him. The backups played just as well sadly. Ugrading, sure, but not replacing his play and they are better off cap wise with him retiring than coming back. On the cap overall, signing Micah doesn't hurt their cap, it helps their cap situation and probably saves them over $10M in cap space next year, so again that is incorrect. Even without signing Micah their restructures can create an insane amount of cap space if they desire
