Defensively, we have a pretty good track record. But offensively we keep throwing guys in the trash. DPJ and Patterson were both the #1 recruit at their position in HS, DPJ barely got drafted in the 6th round and Patterson was literally the last player to sign an undrafted free agent contract with an NFL team. And the previous 5 star offensive skill player we got, Derrick Green, was also just terrible. Honestly, it's been one of the biggest failures of the last decade IMO; developing an NFL QB or RB, we've done neither.Or if you don't have many 5 stars, top 4 stars. I went back to 2010, and stopped at 2017. Cause...I feel like it.
2011
Curtis Grant - Solid contributor, but didn't live up to the hype (Undrafted)
Braxton Miller - Panned out. Unfortunate he got injured. (Third Round)
2012
Noah Spence - Started off so promising, but he fucked up, and got kicked out. Ultimately, bust. (Second Round)
Adolphus Washington - Solid contributor. Wouldn't say a bust. (Third Round)
2013
Vonn Bell - Panned out (Second Round)
Jalin Marshall - Bust (Undrafted)
2014
Raekwon McMillan - Panned out. (Second Round)
2015
Justin Hilliard - So far, bust, but he has an opportunity to be a solid contributor. (Still in school)
2016
Nick Bosa - Obviously panned out. (First Round)
2017
Chase Young - Obviously, panned out (First Round)
Jeff Okudah - Panned out (First Round)
Baron Browning - Solid Contributor (Still in school)
Shaun Wade - Not done yet, but expected to pan out (Still in school)
Wyatt Davis - Not done yet, but expected to pan out (Still in school)
14 total. 3 first round. 3 second. 2 third. 2 undrafted. 4 still in school.
6 success. 2 expected success. 4 (potential) solid contributors. 2 busts.
