I wouldn't mind if the A's won it all...that $80m payroll is just over 1/3 of the Red Sox payroll of $234 million...

I think this is who I am pulling for and the exact reason. I would love for the Moneyball story to finally happen.

I like to pull for the teams who have never won though...so Rockies are up there too.

Also teams who have not won in a while.

So anyone but the Yankees or Red Sox.

Some of the Dodgers best players are homegrown (Kershaw, Seager, Bellinger, Stripling, Buehler, Pederson), not to mention Turner was a utility guy when they signed him and he turned into a star.

Muncy even more so than Turner even. Taylor a cast off too

Dodgers obviously spend some and made the big splash on Machado in a trade and Darvish last year.

But like you said, a lot of their success is through homegrown talent and smart acquisitions like Muncy/Turner/Taylor/Freese etc..

And then there’s players like Kemp who was an albatross and ends up with a nice year
