I still have a bad taste in my mouth for the 1996 playoff loss to the Jagwads. The Broncos were clearly a Super Bowl team that year and it could have started a 3 peat in the Super Bowl for Elway. That version of the Broncos team was probably better than the next two Bronco teams that did win the Super Bowl.

Emblematic play: When Perry walked slowly off the field to catch a too many on the field call at a crucial time in the game.

Any of the Super Bowl loses ill go with Seattle. Makes the Elway wins at end of his career for a better story anyway.

SB XXI- Two drives inside the 20 yard line end up with missed field goals (one with 1st and goal at the one). We get those touchdowns instead, and I believe we go on to win that game against the Giants.

Runner up- AFC championship vs. the Steelers. Another missed chance at a very possible SB win.....

I just went with a SB loss because it would mean we would win a Super Bowl.

Two toughest games to wake up from me were the Jags playoff loss and Ravens playoff loss.

That 2005-2006 AFC championship game that we lost to the Steelers still rankles for me. I thought for sure that Jake the Snake and company were going to the Super Bowl that year. PAINFUL. Of course, we got sweet redemption many years later when Tebow Time took it to the house in overtime. Go Broncos!

We were not the best teams that day. So we deserved those ass whoppings.

As the question is posed, why would anyone select to change a divisional playoff game over a Super Bowl loss?

As I mentioned in my post - I believe the Broncos were the best team in football following the 1996 season and they obviously overlooked the Jags for a home game. It was the game that most disappointed me - where a tweak would have changed the outcome dramatically and lead to a threepete Super Bowl winner and a spot as one of the all time NFL teams. That team had a lot of HOFamers on it.

I would have changed the 9ers blowout - I remember seeing it with my son - and both of us were in tears as the rout got worse. Changing the outcome of that game would not have seemed plausible.

Because we lost those SB's far and square.

Those games we lost were flukes We was the best in the NFL those years and IMO would have won the SB in blowouts.

SB vs the Seahawks

Or Tebow's second playoff game, in New England.

Both were blowouts and if I had the power to turn either of those games into blowouts going the other way, I gladly would.

Guys, you gotta let the losses go. Take a breath and not hold on to them.

Take it from a fan of the 18-0 guys who lost a Super Bowl that they should have won by a questionable catch. Then having to listen to Don Shula and Mercury Morris.

Remember the great wins and great plays. It's a lot easier on the heart and stomach.

Losses are like girlfriends that dump you. They rip your heart out and make you feel like life isn't worth living. But there's always that gal who's just up ahead and she's the future.

Easy choice is one of the Super Bowl loses because it means the outcome is that we win a Super Bowl. None of this could have if we beat the Jags or Ravens. If we pick a Super Bowl loss we are 100% sure we win the Super Bowl. Doesnt matter if we think we are the best team and Jags and Ravens was a fluke, winning the Super Bowl means WE ARE the best team, so I am with CEH. This one is easy just gotta pick between Bowls. I would definitely pick the Seahawks one because it makes Elway’s last two seasons a better story anyway. Would have been nice to win one of those first 4 at the time but I like the storyline for our history and Elway’s career. There will never be a better Super Bowl win then the Packers for me. That moment was surreal. But the moment is still amazing and about as good.

It was the Jacksonville loss on so many levels. It was a tough loss for many fans for obvious reasons, but it was personal to me as I went on spring break from college to Vegas and did a prop bet of $100 for the Broncos not to win the superbowl, but just to win the AFC. The odds were huge 60 to 1. So, that game probably cost me $6 grand. Ouch!!!

P.S. I was drunk when I made that bet.

If we beat the Jags, in 1996 there is guarantee that we win 3 in a row. maybe Elway retires 1 year earlier and still only wins back to back.

The most painful for me was the Ravens game as I was in the stand for that game. It was brutally cold, and then to lose in that fashion was very memorable.

If I could change 1 game it would be the Seahawks Super Bowl.
