Anyone whose top 5 at this point isn't Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Penn State and USC, in some order or another, simply hasn't been paying attention

USC doesn't deserve a top 5 ranking after struggling with a team that just lost to Eastern Michigan.

I actually (shock horror) get his #1 logic. It's problematic, but I understand rewarding the champion with a ranking until they lose it.

I think folks are putting too much credence on OU beating a one dimensional Ohio State team. OU s good but I still see the same weaknesses that Clemson exploited in previous postseasons. Beating Ohio State's overrated Dl is one thing....beating a truly good DL is another.

I have no problem putting Bama #1 right now because they've done the most to prove it.

Going into the Shoe for a night game on the road and winning is easily the most impressive victory that any team has this season, even if OSU's passing game sucks.

I mean, in reality, these rankings are nothing more then educated guess work, so I can't really bemoan someone who uses that logic. We simply don't know how any of the teams will perform with their rosters. Anyway, my 2 cents.

Lol. You can't bad mouth anyone. Michigan shouldn't even be in the top 10 after yesterday's performance. Even top 15 is questionable.

That was the worst UC team from the past decade and we still could've won.

I think you're a bit too high from the win last night. You had two nice wins, but that's where it ends. Everyone (including me), thought Ohio State would be pretty good, as they returned like 15 players from last years team. But that means they are essentially the same team that lost 31-0 to the Tigers. You guys seem pretty good, but that's a far cry from being able to beat Bama. Right now, I'd say the Tide have some weaknesses, but would still blow out any team in the country (ala Bama-USC last year or Bama-FSU this year).

Now, I think teams develop and change as the season progresses. The season is early. Could Oklahoma beat Bama before it's all through? Sure. But I wouldn't start hoping for a championship yet.
