No word yet on Grigorenko in Buffalo.

Speculation that they may scratch him for tomorrow's game against Toronto so they can have an extra couple practices to look at him.

Wait a sec, I'm not sure this is the right thread as I've heard Grigorenko is actually 36 years old.

Bruins should sit Dougie Hamilton out and wait to make an announcement on him until Saturday

Speaking of youngsters, what's the story with Larsson early this season?

Is he hurt or a healthy scratch?

Healthy... I think is level of play at the end of the season last year hurt him this year

What about Baertschi?

He's too old to return to junior, but I think/hope he'll stay with the big club for the rest of the season. Not too pleased with Hartley not giving him much ice time coupled with the fact he's playing with a couple of plumbers.

...Dumba from the Wild...

Hardly a suprise or a disappointment, as he's only 18. I'm sure that Yeo just wanted a chance to see how the kid is developing so that he could tell his Minors coaches what aspects of his game need to be worked on.

Grigorenko is staying up with the Sabres - Since this screws the Quebec Remparts and Patrick Roy, I approve of this decision.

Yep and I like it.

The Buffalo Sabres keep Grigorenko

General Manager Darcy Regier has confirmed that junior star and Sabres first round pick (12th overall) Mikhail Grigorenko will be staying with the team and will be in the Sabres line-up tonight as Buffalo (2-3) faces the Toronto Maple Leafs (2-3) at First Niagara Center at 7PM.

I don't think I like it personally.

I know we're still early in the season, but what I've seen so far from this team tells me this isn't their year once again.*

I'm afraid he won't get properly developed with the big club like he would in juniors, and I don't like the idea of burning an ELC year on a shortened season that's probably going nowhere.

* - I would happily be wrong about this.

That's a good point. Maybe in a full season yes but a shortened one? I am going to be more interested to see what happens if this team fails to make the PO's again. From what I hear and see from the fans and media Ruff is under a microscope because there are a LOT of people like us that are fed up with the failures.

Will D.R. be able to cut that cord? Will he have a choice if the fans scream enough? Pegula has a good feeling for what the fan base is feeling because he interacts with them so often.

Time will tell.....

Edit: Back to your point, I don't think sending Grigs down for one more season makes him a better player but it does save the year on the ELC. Not mention keeps him away from getting poisoned by Ruffs "system".
