As an ND fan and CFB fan in general I really hope the B1G doesn't go to 9 games. Only reason they would is to stick it to Notre Dame, which wouldn't surprise me.
Or to maintain the rivalries and tradition; in other words the goose that laid the golden egg, instead of expanding and creating a conference schedule that feels hollow and causes the fans to slowly lose interest.
Notre Dame is the second biggest rival to 3 B1G teams(Mich, Mich St, PU). Plus, the B1G is in need of some OOC rivals other than the MAC teams they play every year. The Mich St. rivalry started in the late 1800s.
Michigan and Notre Dame are no longer playing every year. Also, keep in mind you said "second."
