East/West is retarded. I'd rather we just stuck with the Leaders/Legends alignment and add Rutgers and Maryland to them. I hated the division names at first but they have grown on me.

how about naming one side "We like FGs" and the other "We're scared of TDs"

or

"Completely unwatchable football" and the other division "OMG OMG OMG Rosebowl bound"

i thought i read an article that said they were shifting illinois to the legends and adding rutgers and maryland to leaders. Did they change their mind?

None of the decommits were kids we really needed. What we need is OL and LBs......and we've lost none.

And I agree, it's time to fire Mack.......but we're fine on the recruiting front. Fire him for what's happening on the field

That's the rumor that was going around but Delaney shot that down pretty quick. They need to go East/West and leave it. That would be the best for all involved.

Once again, in my opinion North/South works. I think it works even better now.

North: Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State, Rutgers

South: Nebraska, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Penn State, Ohio State, Maryland

To some degree you split the Illinois/Chicagoland TV sets between the divisions. You give the south the huge Pennsylvania/Ohio/Indiana population base plus the D.C. area. NYC and Michigan tv sets go basically north. This also breathes life back into the natural rivalries, especially after adding these cross divisional games.

Michian - Ohio State (the game)
Iowa - Nebraska (border battle)
Penn State - Rutgers (which is a rivalry the B1G wants anyway)
Purdue - Northwestern (battle of the private schools)
Wisconsin - Illinois (border battle)
Michigan State - Indiana (border battle)
Minnesota - Maryland (battle of the after-thoughts/once upon times)

Somebody e-mail Delaney and get me a job

That could work too. Basically, I don't care as long as (a) Iowa/Wisconsin is back to every year and (b) they figure out the fucking programming so that all basketball games on televised. There is absolutely no reason a game not to be on tv so they can show 'Big Ten's Greatest Games'. That's programming for the off season and the week days. Not primetime.

Oh and Purdue might not be named after a state or a city but it's about as public as a University gets :D

Like Rutgers

This. And I'd be pissed if they didn't protect the PU-IU rivalry, that's really the only game to look forward too for IU football most seasons.

I like East/West for the most part.

Put IU and turdue in the East and put Sparty in the West.

UNL, Sparty,Wisky, Minny, UI, UIUC, NU seems like a solid western division.

And in the north/south layout they're in the same division. Like I said, the north south layout protects the most rivalries, and evens out the TV markets. IMO, it's the best option.

Except it locks the west out of the bigger TV markets for most of the season, and puts Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan all in the same division. Why not just kick us out of the conference and get it over with?

It should be set up WITHOUT protected crossovers. 6 years is too long without playing conference opponents. I wanna play Nebraska more dammit!

You'd still be waiting a long time between games, and forcing other schools to live without their rivalries. So no. At least my version is trying to give everyone the best possible schedule. Yours is pretty much just about Ohio State fans. No offense intended, just how it looks to me.
