Ryan Matthews is a very good runner. His issue has always been health. In a timeshare that will lessen his workload and decrease the possibility of more injuries. Chip is going to run the ball down everyone's throat, like he did at Oregon.

Hahaha...Chip the idiot hits another HR. While his naysayers keep doubting him.

Dude has to be laughing his ass off at some of these people.

I do not think he planned this all along. I think your giving him more credit than is due.

I think he released McCoy in an agreement to have Gore, and he was sold on that.

I think he got caught surprised and felt like the last man playing musical chairs and the music was stopping.

His next choice was likely Murray, but he was not going to be caught waiting too long, so he grabbed Mathews with less hesitation. Then Murray presented himself better with the Bradford pick (which I think was part of the deal all along).

In short, it worked out. He got caught, but made up for it fast. I give him major credit for that. But I don't think AT ALL this is how he saw it going. His plan A was Gore, and McCoy's call to Gore was a backslap back to chip and the eagles.

Credit to Chip where credit is due. But lets not act like this was his plan all along. But at least he had a plan B and never gave up. That is something Andy Reid could take a lesson from.

I could be wrong, but reading the actions and info coming out, that is how I see it.

I still think Chip lets players go without getting as much value as we could for them.

Well, if one gets injured, hopefully the other takes over. I see a four-headed backfield!

It took 2 RBs including the league's top rusher last year to replace him.

That's a short-sighted way of seeing it. Chip said in his presser that he traded away McCoy because of the cap figure -- to get someone, you have to give someone. Saying he gave McCoy for Maxwell and Kiko. Then he turns around and hands Murray a big deal, AND gives another contract to Ryan Matthews. Might as well say….LeSean, we just don't like you or your talents here…oh, and have fun in buffalo!

He replaced Mccoy with Murray AND got Alonso. Sorry but thats genius. Whos to say he wasnt gonna get Murray and Gore? But Gore backed out? We did sign Mathews dude.

Value? Thats your opinion. Maybe you dont know whats being offered. Actually, its not a maybe. You dont. So you really have no clue if he got great value or not. You can only guess.

Ya think CHip is an idiot? He isnt. He gets what he can get.

I think Chip was gonna go after Murray + FGore. I really do.

This was about getting ALonso, while also lowering this years cap # & probably liking power running more than Shadys style.

Thats cool. Dude killed it & I loved Shady.

I was just saying that's how Shady should look at it.

It was the perfect opportunity to trade McCoy and get great value back. Kiko will be a huge addition to this defense. Let's hope we keep Kendricks to let these 2 studs play next to each other.

I think it was. Dude wanted a coverage linebacker. That's Kiko.

Hell yea. The move alone was only ok because it left a huge hole at RB on a running team but when you add Murray on top of that, its genius. Even if it wasnt planned & I actually think it was.

I think gore backed out because he didnt want to share it with Murray. Chip was planning on signing two RBs...while getting ALonso in trade for Mccoy.

Pretty smart if ya ask me.

People assuming the Murray thing happened out of the blue are nuts. You dont give that much money out on a spur of the moment.

and btw...Chip & co reached out to Murray, not the other way around according to his dad.

Plus Bradford deal was in works for 3 weeks. THink Murray wasnt planned? Im betting it was.

This front 7 has a chance to be special. Maxwell and Jenkins in the backend is very solid as well. If we can sign Marcus Gilchrist at Safety we should be a top 5-10 defense. Grab a corner like PJ Williams or Byron Jones in the draft and we're set.

Murray AND Mathews are both officially Eagles. Best duo in the NFL by a mile...and we have some guy named Darren Sproles who made the PB last year.

WOW.

The front 7 needs a beast at the other DE spot. I like Eddie Goldman.
