Rex Ryan put Sanchez in behind the scrub line and now his career is over. Sure, Sanchez arguably wasn't the GOAT, but damn! Gotta feel for the dude...almost like it worked out well for the Jets to get him pummeled and off the roster:

Y! SPORTS

The team drafted quarterback Geno Smith in the second round this year, and it was clear the franchise wanted him to start, with or without a Sanchez injury. Smith started the third preseason game, didn't play well, and for some weird reason Rex Ryan put Sanchez in the game in the third quarter. He was smashed to the turf and injured his shoulder. That was it.

There's no reason for the Jets to keep Sanchez around in 2014. His salary isn't guaranteed anymore, and it's hefty. He's due a $2 million roster bonus and a $9 million salary. That's never going to be paid.

If the Jets didn't release Tim Tebow.... Tebow could have healed him instantly.

Why?

You could say the organization never put any real talent around him to throw, but the bottomline is he never took the next step.

On the career...I really think the Jets took care of Sanchez...his deal had a $20 mil in G money...if you look at the fine print available on his contract...Sanchez is not in a bad spot at all considering his performance.

This is probably better for the Jets anyways.

He had some talent and it got him to the AFC Championship twice. He'll be a solid backup somewhere. Not starting QB talent but not the worst guy to bring off the bench for a team that doesn't get scrutinized as much as the Jets.

He sure has been bashed a lot though and he was being primed for the Latino population i recall the commercials being in Spanish etc the NFL were really pushing to hit that demographic.

If it was intentional, then it was probably the shrewdest coaching decision of Rex Ryan's career.

But I doubt it. I think this was just a stupid move that ended up injuring his number one guy, and it might turn out to be a blessing because they can now move on from Sanchez, who peaked during year two.

But I still can't anticipate that they will be that much better with Geno, so Ryan is probably still gone after this year.

The JETS are no doubt done with Sanchez. I'm betting someone will pick him up if released at the end of the year. A team like Buffalo who doesn't have a decent back up and a young QB could use him.

Hard to feel bad for a guy who made the money Sanchez did.

Word.

For what he was making, he could have shown a little more enthusiasm...but it's on the Jets for over-paying him.

Sanchez was the starting QB of a team that was built on defense and a ground game. Once those things went away it was all on him - and he wasn't good enough.

That being said, even WITH those things he couldn't get them over the hump of the AFCCG.

What's with that little tiara he wears? Those things are for chicks and soccer players.

He made a lot of money for being substandard. Why should anyone feel pity? I'd feel more sorry for the Jets, but then they kind of did that to themselves. I don't think anyone needs to feel sorry for anyone in that situation

I would have loved to have seen Butt Fumble 2.0.

It's too bad, I would have liked to seen an SC guy make it, even in NY.
I guess it's more Sancheez than Sanchise.
