trading for Kirk Cousins?

He has 1 year left on his deal and Zommer was fired. They might be in rebuild mode, plus y'all need a QB....just wondering.

Wouldn't be my first or last option. I'd rather someone else but he is also better then most other options out there. Strikes me as a bit of a doofus though.

Unless the Vikings ate a good size portion of his remaining contract, then no. And at that point, they may as well keep him. They don’t have a another back up plan at QB, as far as I know.

Agree on both. Kellen Mond was a reach, IMO... A blue chipper coming out but never really lived up to his hype at Texas A&M as a 4 year starter. Maybe a new coach will help him but judging by the Vikings starting Sean Mannion over him when Cousins was out with COVID19 tells me Mond is nowhere near ready to take over as a starting QB. Be interesting if the Vikings draft a QB early this year with the intention of letting Cousins walk next year. They did spend a 3rd on Mond but I just don't see him as a starting NFL QB... Maybe he will grow/develop over the next year though. But I think at best it would be year 3 before he is ready.

Baker Mayfield and Carson Wentz will likely be available soon.

New GM and coach are going to want to bring in their own guy,

I remember when this question was posed regarding Joe Flacco .. I said I'd be watching a lot more Eagles games

Nothing would drive a Bronco Boner into the dirt more than Cousins .. not even another year of Bridgewater

Seriously? LOL.

You're prefer either of them to Cousins?

NO!

Cousins is at least a decent QB. Granted it I feel like he is starting to become more of a stop gap like many of the others. He is obviously a good QB right now to come in and start but probably not a guy I want to lock in for another 5 years. He had good weapons with Minnesota and would with Denver 33 TDs, 7 picks last year. Not bad on a team that was also a very good running team. Just a bit inconsistent to lock him in long term. I either want someone we are fully all in on or some rookie that is promising which might be hard to find this draft season. If we fail to grab one of the higher QB"s out there then Cousins is surely an option but not the option we will all be jumping up in the air for.

I would take Cousin's over Mayfield, Wentz of Bridgewater (when has Teddy ever put up numbers like Cousin's has), but he would be yet another stop gap. Also the trade scenarios of giving up a first for Cousins are insane.

I'd never give up a first round pick for Cousins. Especially considering we pick #9 and he has 1 hefty year left on his contract. Obviously, if Denver did it they would want to agree to a new deal but even at that... I think we would all be throwing stuff at the TV screen as that trade came across. He is a much better option then most of the options out there. But like I said. Surely not my #1.

There is no QB in the 2022 draft worth selecting really. If you trade for him it gives you a shot at competing for a WC. In 2023 there are some players who would be worth drafting

I think there are plenty "worth selecting" but not at #9. Ask me again in 2 months but right now sitting at #9 nothing appeals to me at the QB position over other players of more value.

No one is trading for Cousins unless Vikes are paying most of his salary
$35M base salary

$100M for a 54-54 record.

I will confess - in front of God and country - right here - that I think the right kind of offense would make Drew Lock a much more effective QB. Either get another year out of him or trade him now.
