Noah Syndergaard on his first pitch of the game that nearly hit Alcides Escobar in the head: “I certainly wasn’t trying to hit the guy, that’s for sure. Young bouncing the ball way short when Matz was lining up to bunt was pretty bad too. Should have been out on review, but Royals did plenty to give that run away.
