It was great to give the bullpen a rest, but I'd still be a little concerned about putting more miles on his arm than necessary.

I'm not worried about that. He only has one more game in a Royals uniform

I just don't see the reason to do it with that big lead

Quickest to 20 post season wins in MLB history: • Joe McCarthy (27G) • Ned Yost (28G) • Casey Stengel (28G)

The Royals should win the series.

Because they're the better team.

Based on what?

  1. More Runs Scored
  2. Better BA, OBP, SLG & OPS
  3. Better ERA+
  4. Better defense
  5. Better run differential
The Royals accomplished this while playing in a significantly better division and league.

The Mets had a nice run and did a great job capitalizing on many opportunities. They've beaten two teams that were better than they were to reach the world series and now it seems their luck may have run out. I do hope they can make a series out of this and it'd be one hell of a story if they pulled it off, but their odds at this point are not good.

Really? It's likely that he's got a minimum of two, maximum of five games left as a Royal and their pitching strength lies with their bullpen.

Yost looks like a cadaver, and has a future as a prop in Weekend At Bernie's III, but if I were him, I'd have pitched Cueto too.

Meh. Not sure I'd give too much credit to Yost (or the other two) for that.

Me neither, but its interesting since everybody (Royals fans included) thought he was a moron 14 months ago.

He deserves some credit for their success, if for no other other reason than being a hands off manager

Really? Wow. I did not know that.

Good for him.

yep, got the job midway through the 14 season

he's been pretty fucking good.

great philosophy he has. It'll be interesting to see if teams mimic that next season.

Not to change the subject or anything, and I didn't see a thread on the topic, but...it seems Donnie baseball is taking his talents to Miami....and Bud Black is getting the Nationals gig.
Just wanted to put that out there.

Okay then....

Carry on.
