Chris Lee looking for work in the league. That sure seems like a Vegas fit to me, but we'll see.

Here is a nifty European Auto.

It now lives in my garage.

My old one had an issue where it was chucking metal shavings into the crankcase because of a poor design, and I was just luck enough to be outside the ultra extended warranty period that Audi set up to acknowledge that it was a terrible design. I was 10K past that, so I let the old one go.

Nice looking ride, 43.

Three things need to happen in order for me to buy an electric vehicle:

1. Bring the price down to match conventional internal combustion engine powered vehicles
2. Bring the charging time down (full charge in 15 minutes will do)
3. Build a charging station network in North America (this could take some time, it's quite sporadic presently).

The way I see it, electricity prices are going to be sky high forever in Ontario because of what the Liberals have done here so even with gas being highly unaffordable as it is it's still likely to be forever cheaper than EV's.

1) It feels like this is carefully calculated to ensure it's never an easy decision. Hybrids seem to cost the exact amount you save over five years in fuel cost more than gas only options.
2) I'd settle for half an hour/45 minutes if the charging infrastructure includes things to do while waiting. Pull in, plug in, go eat and shop to stretch the legs, get on with it.
3) EPA is trying to find some auto manufacturer to pay for it. VW told them to fuck off and is paying for the infrastructure in Europe instead. Tesla keeps spending it's money on defending it's distribution model in court, so they aren't paying for it. They can't get any energy company to pay for it because they have too much of a reliance on fossil fuels. BP or Exxon won't pay because it will cost them too much in the long run.

It's a very good thing that Volvo is doing this. So many of the safety innovations that make cars what they are today were pioneered by Volvo. When they set their minds to something, it usually gets done. And done well.

1. The next Tesla? Hope so, have a deposit down for the wife.
2. 220 volt in the garage, plug in overnight. (I realize not applicable for road trips)
3. Yeah. Can only really be a daily commuter, assuming 2. is in place
