Word is Texas offered Towers a damn nice package for Upton and he just cut his nose off to spite his face. He couldn't have possibly handled Upton any more wrongly than he did.

So many rumors going around of what trades were offered to whom, what was Texas' best offer for Upton again?

I don't think they got a fair trade from Atlanta, but Prado is a legit player and we got a couple prospects who could work out.....

The key is whether Upton, still mid 20's develops into that other level that sets him into the top tier.......I think he does and that's why it was stupid to trade him.....

If Upton develops no further than what he is now, Prado is actually a better player.....I just think Upton has the potential to move his game onto the elite level and Prado is the safe bet to be an every year consistently good player....

My understanding is it was something along the lines of Olt (big time 3b prospect and top 15 overall, and some talented young pitching (possibly our #1 pitching prospect Perez) but towers was dead set on the #1 prospect in baseball and couldn't get over the fact that Texas wouldn't turn loose of Profar.

Granted, I'm of the opinion trading Upton was wrong from AZ's point of view, but I would say what they got from Atlanta is better than a 3B highly touted prospect and a couple pitching prospects......they got a 3B that is proven and you can count on based upon what he has done, not what he may be able to do.....

I agree with you on Towers being delusional if he thinks Gregorious is the shit, but he didn't acquire him from the Upton trade.....that was a totally different dumb trade......

But that's just it, he would have traded Upton to y'all if you would of given up Profar in a package, but you didn't want that and that means your package wasn't as good as what he got from Atlanta.....

Upton wasn't worth Profar straight up. That's my point. Second, you undervalue the package Texas was offering. You throw the word prospect around like they're ugly step children. Truth is, every major league player was a prospect once.
