Bret Bielema has been telling people that he will be the next Patriots defensive coordinator, according to The Boston Globe.

The Patriots have more important things to worry about right now than who will fill their defensive coordinator void next season, but that isn't preventing the rumors from flying.

With Brian Flores reportedly set to accept the Dolphins' head coach position after the Super Bowl, many believe it could be former Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano taking his spot with New England. Ex-Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema, who has spent the season as Bill Belichick's consultant, says "not so fast."

The song remains the same....

The spare parts cast away are on a long list.

Similar for acquisitions.

Never heard of this guy but had of course heard on Schiano from his NFL stint in TB.

Bill makes chicken cordon bleu out of chicken shit.

Except of course for McDaniels....

Maybe if the Chiefs defense is good next year... that would be kind of a problem for the AFC if that actually happened.

Outside of that...

The hell you talking about? They're in a division they only need 10 wins a year to win, the Steelers haven't done shit to them in years outside of last year, ironically in a game that ended up meaning dick, and even a diminished Brady is still pretty good.

None of their massive institutional advantages are going away unless you think the Chiefs go full Warriors on the AFC, or the Browns, Texans, and Colts all take the next step and crowd out NE from a bye. There's a reason the Dynastic 49ers back in the day only went to 5 SB's (I think that's right), and not 9. Alternatively, you could invest in the ever elusive Brady cliff.

The end is no doubt near.

I don't blame them for good fortune in the East.

You still have to win when it matters.

And they do a more than fair job of that.

These posts give me such grins. I always wonder if the poster was actually chanting Beast Mode out loud.

On the DEF side of the ball? This is hardly raising an eyebrow in New England.

They're in a division they only need 10 wins a year to win,

Then why do they win 12 per on average? Why do they have a slightly better winning % against teams not in their division than in it? How do they keep winning AFC championships and SBs when they rarely face an AFCE team in the playoffs?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If this guy is saying these things right before the SB and causing a distraction ....

Then he won't be the next defensive coordinator.

Like any of their coaches matter other than tHoody.

They won with Fatshit Patricia. They'll win with Fatshit Bielema.

Bielema has always seemed like a stupid fucker to me though. This doesn't seem like a great route for a successful, professional franchise like NE imo.

Thank you for taking the obvious bait- you lose.

Lastly- they only have to win two games to make the SB most years. 3>2

If you are (stupidly) suggesting I don't think the Pats are good, well, you're stupid and not worth my time.

Holy fuck!

Nothing more pathetic than a stat queen trying to justify a stupid assertion.

Congrats!

The facts that he's telling people this, is a distraction to the Pats going into the SB. The Dark Lord hates distractions. He's fucked!

Father time is the only thing that's gonna stop the Pats AFC dominance... Belichick isn't some master mind, he's a great coach, but it's a copycat league, Pats aren't doing something that's not copied, they just simply do it better than anyone else because of Brady, his leadership is the main reason, he's just that good ... Pats have gotten to the promise land with average defenses, Pats first titles though, those D's were legit....
