Bielema got them together in the locker room and said "1-0 on three".....

Just as we were saying before the game.......both teams were 0-0 going into that game with the same thing on the line........nothing that happened during the season mattered anymore.......

Nebraska just forgot. Wisconsin didn't.

Now, Nebraska must take that mentality into the game against Georgia.

We are 0-0 going into that game. We haven't accomplished shit this season, but we have the opportunity to now.

You think we will play that way?

It fucking pisses me off that we let our 10-2 record get in our heads......

And we let a 7-5 team forget about their record and play with way more passion.....

Now THAT is some bad coaching!

I'll bet we approach the game with the motivation that "well we could have an 11 win season...."

That won't do it! We will get crushed going in with that thought. Coaches gotta learn how to prepare........learn how to motivate.

The Journey on BTN for the BIG Championship game was kinda funny and sickening to watch.......

All of our players were talking about how after the Ohio State game we decided to make a change, and so we did.....and now we are different. It went on and on about that shit.....

And then the show ended with Wisconsin holding the trophy and the score 70-31 over the screen....

This is a team full of bloviators. They learned it from their head coach.

They love to run their mouths about shit and they'll talk your ears off about the process and accountability, but when it comes down to it that's all it is. Talk.

There is a part of me that thinks Bo is leaving soon, but another part thinks Tom wouldn't have retired if he thought for a second a coaching change was coming

Fun make believe question- Had the Huskers prevailed in Indy, and Bo took the arky job, would Tom be returning for one last coaching job like Barry is?

Tom would appoint Barney Cotton as interim HC.

Take this as a highly speculative rumor, but I've been hearing Bo is showing some interest in the Tenn job.

@ Tenn he'll no longer have to deal with that dreaded word "Blackshirts".

Or deal with the pesky Nebraska media and all of their hard balls.

The core of the strained relationship with the media began and has continued to be the Blackshirts. Pelini has always held them in contempt.

Having a player like Suh disrupting offenses masked it somewhat, but if you remember 2009 he didn't award any to anybody until game 6 against Texas Tech. The defense responded with a 31-10 loss.

"Quit worrying about the Blackshirts. Get over it," coach Bo Pelini said. "We didn't play well enough. It had nothing to do with Blackshirts or yellow shirts or white shirts, or whatever the hell it is.

"We got our butts kicked. It's not about Blackshirts. It's about executing on game day when we're out there in red and white, and we didn't do that."

I agree that on gameday it's about going out and playing at an elite level (ala Suh), but in the interim it's about instilling motivational pride in those that wear them in practice, and further motivation for the back-up's to take one away.

Either scrap the Black-shirts tradition completely (as long as Pelini's around) or get back to what they were originally used for, which is identifying worthy starters in practice.

They are a bad fit for Pelini's "group effort" mantra, a source of tension, and now an embarrasement.

The media and the fans here (Tennessee) are just as rabid as Nebraska's. He may have a few years to rebuild but it will be the same here as Nebraska.

There are very few in-state recruits, you have to go out of state and then you are competing against SEC and ACC teams. And to be successful you need consistent competitiveness against Florida, Alabama and Georgia.

If you can't do that the wolves will be on your heels. I don't think Bo could do that. He needs to be in a recruiting hotbed to be successful at that level.

Yeah I was just being a smartass. We always hear how "bad" the media and fans are with attention here and it's just not true. There's lots of places like that.

Yeah that was Mike Hamilton, pretty much thought of as we think of Pedey. At the time though many thought that Fulmer didn't have what it takes any more, just like at the time many thought Solich didn't have it (me included).

The parralels between TN and Nebraska are pretty amazing, cept if Kiffin stayed TN would be in a lot better shape now (if not on sanctions). As it is he left the program in shambles just like HWNSNBN and the A.D. lost his job over it.

Anyway Pelini's not likely to be sought out laterally or higher.

He's got no conference championships.
He's not a great recruiter.
He's nationally labelled a hot head.
His teams commit a lot of turnovers.

His 2012 defense just gave up 36, 63, and 70 pts amid mass confusion.
His 2011 defense gave up 48, 45, and 30 (at least it was trending down :thumb:).

He's all of the above @ a program with similar resources, facilities, and a championship tradition.

If he was at a mid-major or a school that's historically known as mediocre, you snatch the guy up in a heartbeat, he's winning where he shouldn't.
